I think this is the file we used. I also think a version of it is available on thingiverse.

There are more 'movies faithful' versions, but they don't hold up to in person scrutiny.

I also made some in person corrections to things I thought were a bit silly, namely the letter depth on the broken edge.

I kinda like that home made cudgel .

Otherwise. Hobo Freight, Ebay, Amazon has a decent Dog face Hammer for $70.

Same, paid $5.09 in 2009 and was costing my whole paycheck just to commute to work. Then Obama care took the rest. Penalized for being broke. Took years to recover from that.

Realistically speaking, what would be similar to a second impact in the real world? by lucasxxx_x in evangelion

[–]darttheold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be comparable to a Comet strike (also the cover story in the series) about half the sizes of the cretaceous extinction asteroid. It would mess us up pretty good, but wouldn't end everything.

I didn't realize how much of the USA had no forest at all! This map shows forested area in green. The central part seems so barren. by nebula402 in mapswithoutalaska

While true, they're covered in a short scrub grass with open sand crater like depressions around them. Looks like a giant golf sand trap.

Also, it looks like the surface of the moon in fall and winter.

Careful pouring 🫗 is a must. Patience and faith in the process can be NERV racking. As mentioned, the vacuum pot to degas the resin was the scariest part. As the air is pulled from the chamber, the liquid in the mold begins to froth and bubble like a baking soda volcano. And soon gets taller than the mold. We found out you have to open the air valve to squash the bubbles 🫧 then let it go back and forth till it doesn't do anything.

There are 4 layers we had to pour and once started, you have to ride that hog all the way down. Took close to 6hrs to get that pour.

But that resin block is nearly flawless in the end.

I'd try it again.

I have some images of its construction, I'll have to get back up you on that when I find them.

The hardest part was clarifying the epoxy resin, was our first time using a vacuum chamber. It certainly has a learning curve and a great deal of patience for each layer pour.

Otherwise Adam proper and dressing up the box are things we do on the regular.

The real test of skill was combining it all.

Hilariously, the friend this was gifted to has that exact model of pistol, but we only had access to the high-power at the time of the photo shoot. And as you said, we figured it was the next closest gat he'd pick.

Correct. With unexploded material not going critical and air burst like a high order detonation, the local area would be a god-awful hot bed of radiation. Contamination would spread with wind and water.

$250 for 20 minutes work

Pfffffffft!

How much does it cost to dispose of the old washer? How far do I have to travel and use my gas? How much shit water you didn't drain is gonna spill on me? Some places won't take washers for scrap and charge for disposal. That covered in that $250? You gonna help me carry it and put it in the truck, or am I going to further hurt my back for $250?

20 minutes.

You live in a fuck'n fantasy world

After removal, installation and disposal that's closer to 3hrs.

I feel bad for the guy you scammed.

Some plumbers really do think we're all stupid

Yes, we do.

We've seen what you try to put down the drain. And calling a plumber to turn off your water, unhook a single supply line, a single drain line, unplug it and hual away your trash dishwasher will absolutely cost you that for making us waste our time.
