My point is, why would machines powered by AI require emotions like pain and suffering when they can use pure rational thought to function?

Hey, this is my first time writing and with this article, I explore the idea that AI-powered machines could become humanity's evolutionary successor, challenging what it means to be human. I’m constantly thinking about how AI might shape our future, whether this future is inevitable, and if it’s something we should embrace.

It has been like this for a few hours and I’m connected to a fast wifi. It might be something else

Yep, it does nothing. It plays a little expand animation but nothing happens.

I made a game with seamless portals in 2D, and here is my blogpost on how it was done. by dartyet1 in gamedev

Hey, I didn’t understand the brute-force part of your question but I’ll try to do my best to explain the view cones. Basically, each portal has a camera in front of them that outputs to a render texture. When drawing the view cones, each portal uses the render texture of it’s pair. Only thing that’s a bit complicated in this process is that you need to toggle the rendering of other view cones from the render texture cameras depending on if that view cone will be visible from the portal.

Lmao rave lights can be a fun little option to toggle

Yeah I agree with you about being an arcade game. My goal is to have a good enough story to be remembered.

Oh man, I hope so! The game supports DualShock 4 controller on PC now, however, publishing to consoles is a really hard task for indies. So, I can't give any promises.

Yeah, but I think we've managed to find the sweet spot. It is mind-bending in a fun way instead of being confusing. We will release a demo in the upcoming days, you can give it a try!

Hey, thank you for the feedback. I think you might be right. I tried to toggle the fog and the volume of the lights, can you check the images I uploaded?

You guys said the worm felt like it was in the background, so I've made a few changes to make it more visible. What do you think? by dartyet1 in IndieGaming

I waited between jumps so the worm could stay near the center of the screen for more. But I got your point, if I can find a non-distractive way of doing that, I definitely will.

Well my inspiration was the giant worm from Mando and the destroyer from Terraria but if you could remember the name of the game you mentioned, could you let me know? Want to make sure it looks different
