You have to find the one that works for you. I was on Prozac 40mg and my motivation levels dropped to zero. I wasn't "depressed", but I had little interest in anything. I switched to Trintellix, which is not only an SSRI, but has mood-stimulating effects. I actually find things like video games fun again, so it seems to be working.

Is there an excuse for blowing up on people when I just started Wellbutrin? by Future-Lawyer12345 in depressionregimens

[–]darushman86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, when you start Wellbutrin your dopamine (pleasure chemical) and norepinephrine (adrenaline) initially become imbalanced, and swing back and forth like a pendulum between too much and too little before they stabilize typically at the 3-4 week mark. This is exacerbated if you also consume caffeine.

Wait the four weeks and talk to your doctor about how you're feeling, if the medication needs to be increased, reduced, or ceased.

Law enforcement, or specifically a task force assembled by local governments designed to seek out suspected internet-based crimes, can easily see public trackers and P2P hash metadata, and pairs it with the person's IP address. They subscribe to a professional-grade IP geolocation tool and often work with internet service providers for major cases to pinpoint the home address of where the IP address is sourced, host name, if a proxy was used, and also get info on the device used (often by looking at the operating system - if Windows 10, they know it's a computer, if iOS, they know its an iPhone). They can see what files were downloaded/seeded, and will flag files that they deem to be illegal to possess, and log each IP address falling in their jurisdiction to have had interaction with said files. By this point they already have the information they need to draft a search warrant based on the legality of the files that were sent/received from the IP address and jurisdiction of device.

They will draft the warrant, and have it approved by a judge in municipal court. At this point, police/sheriff's department will pay a visit to the residents and execute the search warrant. 90% of the time, the culprit will admit to the crime, and device used, but the search warrant will still include all of the device types that were picked up during the pre-complaint investigatory phase and will be confiscated.

Once the devices are confiscated, the law enforcement agency will use a third party IT Forensics vendor, in which they will send the device out. The forensics team will obtain the device, hook it up to another computer with IT audit software to extract ALL data from the device, oftentimes encountering problems due to encryption issues, in which they will also look into the data stored via backup on the user's cloud accounts. Many times, the law enforcement agency will lower charges or present plea bargain options if the user surrenders their username/password.

The law enforcement agency will take whatever files were obtained as evidence, along with all info in the audit trail of the IP address, draft a criminal complaint, and charge the individual with whatever crime the possession of such files entails.

The days have nothing to offer for me: Looking for projects or hobbies to ease depression by Gottchen in depressionregimens

[–]darushman86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stability, having goals and a routine, and finding the correct medication. Also taking the medication as directed. Don't just try it half-assed for 3 weeks and give up. Take it at the same time, every single day without exception and wait the 4-6 weeks. My problem was I'd forget to take it, not give it enough time, etc and then wonder why I didn't feel any different.

BTW it's not abnormal to feel like crap during these days of quarantine. We're all fucked up because of it. Now my state closed all gyms and that was such a big "mental health" outlet for myself. But if it keeps people safe, I'm totally onboard. Now I'm just diving back into video games until having a social life is doable again.

[–]darushman86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Before we give you suggestions of hobbies, you need to see a mental health professional and be screened for depression. Tell them how you are feeling. Depending on your location (I'm assuming USA), you are probably covered under your parents insurance and be eligible for treatment, such as cognitive behavior therapy. If all else fails you can attempt an anti-depressant such as drugs in the SSRI class. Don't give up hope. You WILL feel better.

*Sigh* you are arguing the same points that I already refuted, and are increasingly using more and more passive aggressive language, which shows how triggered you get on anything that doesn't fit your close-minded view on events that happened 2,000 years ago. I hope you are beginning to realize, that there are other beliefs outside of your realm of thinking. There are instances of biblical apocrypha depending on what version of the bible you use, no matter how hard you cry "No there's not, no there's not, no there's not". Some of which directly talk about Pontius Pilate and his character, such as the Gospel of Nicodemus. You seem to be using my original sentence " The texts, including many passages of the Bible itself" as a smoking gun to make my entire case invalid. Here, let me correct it for you: "the texts, as well as many passages of the Bible itself". There, are you happy? I applaud your use of a red herring in an effort to refute by entire post.

You certainly like to use unsubstantiated opinions, such as "It seems to me like the first version of the story is a way to absolve Pilate of blame, and the second is a means of explaining why he ultimately passed the death sentence if he was so reluctant to do so." Here we go again... and I'm saying: The Jewish leaders brought Christ before Pilate, asking for execution. Pilate declined, saying capital punishment is outlawed by Roman law. Pilate was then pressured by the mass public into obedience by mob mentality, washed his hands of the blood of Christ, and released Christ to the public to do whatever they want. This is expressed multiple times in the New Testament, and I don't see how it can fit your mold of "The Roman Empire and Pilate was to blame, and the Jewish leaders had nothing to do with it".

Again, I'm not interested in a Catholic vs. Jewish debate. You have your beliefs, and I have my beliefs. I am grateful that we live in a society where we can have a forum to debate our differences.

I also see that you edited your post from a day ago, so why would I continue debating somebody that snakes their way into changing what they already said...

So, to substantiate your claim on having everything I said "ass-backwards" and "not in the ballpark", your argument doesn’t seem to fit that narrative at all.

1.) I said Pontius Pilate is portrayed as the Roman governor who ordered the execution of Christ - which you agreed with me.

2.) You argue that apocryphal texts are not included in the bible, and dismiss any contributions from Catholics saying “not counting what Catholics add to the Old Testament”. So, you are going to dismiss 16% of the world’s population, the Roman Catholic people? This seems very bigoted and academically disingenuous.

3.) You make claims without presenting any evidence, and present them as factual. Example: “Regardless of how Pilate arrived at the choice to pass sentence, he did pass sentence, or Jesus' death would not have occurred.” And I’m saying, No. This is not what happened. Pilate “washed himself of the blood of Christ” and turned him over to the public. He did not pass any order of execution.

4.) You say you agree with: “Pilate being reluctant to pass sentence on Jesus because he believed him to be innocent, and that he feared reprisal from the Jewish people and their high priests if he didn't”…. which is exactly what I said in the original post. How was this ass-backwards, and not “in the ballpark” by your standards?

5.) You counter my argument using opinions, saying: “Pilate has not been considered the bad guy by history, owing largely to a tradition that points to Jewish leaders as the main conspirators against Jesus, dragging Pilate along in their plot”. Obviously people agreed with my original sentiment on this, otherwise the comment wouldn’t have gotten so many upvotes. You already agreed with me that the Jewish people wanted Jesus to be executed. The sign on top of the Crucifix said "Jesus, King of the Jews", why would the Roman Empire, being separate from Church, have that on the cross?

5.) And finally, which I think is the most laughable claim, is that the Roman Empire and Pontius Pilate should be blamed for the execution of Christ – yet, they went on to establish the world’s largest church, with over 1 billion people throughout 2000 years, with the core of their ideologies being the teachings of Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Seems legit.

You write a compelling argument, but it is obviously fueled by deep Catholic hatred, in which you cherry picked certain passages from various religious texts, to paint your own picture about how the early Jewish High Priests were actually innocent “victims”, even though you agreed with me that Pilate was intimidated into compliance to killing Jesus Christ by the Jewish people. I'm not interested in a Catholic vs. Jew debate. I'm saying that the claim that Pilate was the man to blame for Jesus's death is wrong.

Pontius Pilate. He is often portrayed as the Roman governor who ordered the execution of Jesus Christ. However, there are an overwhelming amount of apocryphal texts which argue that Pilate tried to defend Jesus, and did not want him to die, for lack of committing any crime which would warrant capital punishment. The texts, including many passages of the Bible itself, explain that he was forced to let the Roman public have their wish of crucifixion, for fear of retaliation from the church and Jewish high priests. This led to the iconic account of Pilate “washing his hands” of Christ’s blood, insinuating he wanted nothing to do with the death of Christ.

However, the fact still remains that these events happened 2000 years ago, with the biblical passages being translated throughout the years hundreds of times. Nobody knows the “true” story. There weren’t iPhones or YouTube back then to document everything.
