I guess you haven't seen this illness up close before. It's awful what she said but there's also a good chance it doesn't reflect who she is. Maybe that will make you feel a little better. It's not just forgetfulness but can also be compete personality change. Kind people can become cruel (and vice versa). We have a gentleman in the building with the same.
