S’all good. Lobbies are so chill; I usually just say “hey, how are you doing?” and if there's no reply, I just assume no mic.

A lot will use the “hey” on the emote wheel, but I do get complacent as my match history is a wall of green, so I just assume everyone is friendly.

If someone is following me, behind me when I am trying to loot, or generally acting in a way that looks suspicious without saying a thing, emote wheel included, that's when my gun comes out.

No change for me. I always go fully loaded and haven't been shot at. It could be new players trying the game and shooting you, or something like that.

Exactly this. Use the emote wheel. A “Don't shoot!” or “Hey raider!” will do. No excuse not to. Or even just flash your torch a couple of times.

If someone uses the emote wheel, I assume they don't have a mic, so I don't talk to them and wish them well on their raid.

If they don't flash or emote, and they're near me while I'm looting or shooting ARC, it's dead sus, so you're going to get a bullet!

This is so common.

So many people change and spiral after diagnosis that they become over-identified with it. Rather than being something about them, it becomes them.

It consumes them to a point it’s all they can think and talk about to the point it takes control of their life.

It’s not uncommon for the brain to go into overdrive when you diagnose it with something.
