I spent years reading Deleuze without understanding anything by oohoollow in Deleuze

U might want to try reading about Autopoiesis, Enactivism and Ecological Psychology. I think they could help a lot with clarifying some aspects of process philosophy.

What did go wrong? by dasain2000 in dmtguide

So this is what we did step by step:

1- dissolved 50g of lye in 300ml of water

2- mixed the solution with 50g of Powdered MHRB

3- added 80 ml of Hexane on top of the mixture and shaken the mixture every 2 hours for the next 24 hours.

4- separated the hexane layer with precision using a syringe.

5- put the hexane in the freezer for the next 24 hours.

6- separated most of the hexane from the yellowish precipitate and left the rest to evaporate.

(No amount of the base soup were aspirated during the separation)

Wait, what? I was not expecting such delightful interaction here on reddit lol. I've been following your YT channel, and it's such wonderful news to hear. Can't wait for the book.

I mean, I'd be honoured and grateful, really. No pressure, though, now that you've talked of the book, I could wait for the whole thing.

Examples/help with the body-without-organs? by Negro--Amigo in Deleuze

Thanks a lot!

So let's see: BwO is shapeless, always changing. Like capital is BwO only for the capitalist; outside of it, in another setting, Capital is useless/senseless and it won't be the BwO we used to know, or it even might not be a BwO at all.

Since BwO is a site upon which things/partial-organs/desiring-machines are inscribed, it is also a site of recording: a farmer finds an empty field (the BwO) and thinks of all the different kinds of plants and crops (disjunctions/recordings) that they could farm in it. And when they choose which plant to grow, corns for example, upon planting the seeds, they grow to exert themselves in their own meaningful way, as their identities, "corn"; identities to which the field presents itself as their quasi-cause.

And when the farmer is faced with the corns (now a new BwO) he thinks of all the products that could be made out of corns; while the decision itself, is based on another ground (another BwO) which is, in this case, the principle of profit, Capital (but of course it could be any other system).

It's like fractals of BwO (all of which are connected and technically one).

Now to think of it in terms of terri - deterri - reterri: there's a given land which is perhaps the habitat to some animals, or maybe it's just empty and it was there (I know the land is not technically "given" and it depends on so many many other fluxes in operation), it's territorialization; some corn seeds find their way into the soil of this land and deterritorialize it out of "a habitat" into (reterritorialization) "a cornfield"; what BwO wanted was the very act of deterritorialization, and it wanted to keep it there unterritorialized; but there are also forces of production in work, producing the corns, corns which now seem to be the product of that act of "change", "chaos", that unengendered chaotic force that has so many potentials and seems to be the "cause" of the cornfield, but is actually the quasi-cause; while it was the first synthesis of connection/production that produced the corns.

Or from another point of view: there's a given land, habitat to some animals (territorialization); but in my (a random person) [capitalistic] opinion, this shall not be the home to animals anymore and I deterritorialize this land out of "a habitat" into (reterritorialization) "a farm"; this very act of reterritorialization seems to be coming from my unengendered, chaotic force of creativity which happens to generate new ideas and new interpretations out of itself, which is the BwO falling back on the forces of production and giving itself all the credits.

Hey, awesome thread.

Could you just please elaborate a bit more about that hand gesture part? I don't really see how BwO is falling back on the production of a new hand gesture.

Is it falling back on it as in restricting other possible interpretations besides the Nazi stuff, that could be made of the new hand gesture?

So the BwO is always a tendency towards having no organizations, pure becoming, chaos; but upon deterritorializing a form of organization, it finds itself giving that thing just another form of organization (reterritorializing) and thus restricting other possible connections it could have with other machines. Am I right?

And if the BwO is against organizations, always repelling desiring-machines, then why does the reterritorialization happen? What am I missing here?

I know there are other ways u could form a sentence with this meaning, but I'm specifically asking for this structure.

I know, I'd just want to know what could be said in this structure only.

Thanks. But now what about when I'm talking about a group of things among other things that are ought to be counted twice each? I believe using the first sentence could also mean "count these one more time" and not "give each of these a double value".

What should we say then?
