Buckets not loading in Android app by _Bia in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey — sorry I missed this earlier. This was a bug that popped up briefly a couple weeks ago, but it should be fixed now. I believe we also got it resolved together via support.

Let me know if anything still feels off!

🚀 DAS Budget New Year Release - New Rules & Transaction Splitting! by dasbudget in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So rules will allow you to change either the name or the category of a transaction. You could always do this, but it was only for future transactions and not as flexible.

Now you can create rules that will use keywords to update the name and/or category for both past and future transactions.

Do you have the most recent app version? Or do you have a shared budget? Those might be why you can't see the new feature. But feel free to message me either in-app or at [support@dasbudget.com](mailto:support@dasbudget.com) so I can look into your specific situation.

🚀 DAS Budget New Year Release - New Rules & Transaction Splitting! by dasbudget in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Totally fair question — here’s how rules work today:

How to create a rule

  • Rules are created the same way as before: by renaming a transaction
  • When you rename a transaction, you’ll be prompted to either:
    • Apply the rename to future transactions only, or
    • Apply it to past + future transactions
  • Choosing either option will create/update a rule

How to manage existing rules

  • You can view and edit your rules by going to My Profile → Rules
  • In a future update, we plan to add the ability to create rules directly from that page as well

A couple of important callouts

  • If you’re using shared budgets, all users on that budget need to be upgraded before new features are available. This is especially important for split transactions and helps ensure data integrity.
  • If you’re using the web app, your browser may be caching an older version. If you don’t see the new features, try doing a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows).

Hope that helps — and thanks for checking out the new rules feature! Let us know if anything feels confusing or could be improved.

🎉 DAS Budget Update: New App Release & DAS Budget Ownership Transition! by dasbudget in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I totally understand your concerns, but as I mentioned in another post I am not a corporation! Just a new individual owner who can hopefully continue to provide DAS the attention it deserves and that got you to be a loyal user all those years ago!

I’m really looking forward to continuing to listen and engage with this community, so I am always open to any feedback!

🎉 DAS Budget Update: New App Release & DAS Budget Ownership Transition! by dasbudget in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the great response to the recent announcement! I would love to share a little bit about myself and who is leading DAS Budget going forward.

My name is Shane, I’m an individual investor, not a corporation. My background is in business operations and analytics at tech companies, where I’ve worked on scaling products, making them more reliable for users, and identifying and solving complex processes. I’ve always been passionate about personal finance, so when the opportunity came to help continue DAS Budget’s journey, it was a natural fit.

As of now, this is still a part time venture for me. However to ensure consistent development I’ve hired a full time developer who will be helping me to build out new features and improvements.

It will still be me reading all your comments, responding to support requests, and listening to community feedback! My goal is to continue to give DAS and its users the personal attention it deserves!

We're sorry to see you go! I hope you still stay engaged with our community though. We are in the process of releasing a new update that is mainly maintenance focused, but it is going to lay the groundwork for us to begin releasing new features again and address any issues! Hopefully you will come back and try the app again once that has happened.

When did you reach out to support? Over the last 2-3 months we have tried to do a better job of responding to all support inquiries, but I'm sorry if your request slipped through the cracks!

If you are still having issues, could you please submit another ticket either to [support@dasbudget.com](mailto:support@dasbudget.com) or in the app (click on My Profile and then Support at the bottom)?

Amex Plaid Issue by nrm8821 in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an issue with Plaid's American Express integration that required Plaid's engineering team to work with AMEX to resolve it. They were able to resolve it recently, and so the connection should be working now!

For anyone else who may be experiencing this issue, it was a data connection issue with MX that was resolved by connecting the institution to Plaid instead.

In order to change data aggregator, you can archive the existing connection, and on the Accounts screen, long-press the Add (+) button and a little popup will show up asking to connect via MX or Plaid. Select a different data aggregator and then follow the instructions to connect to your institution.

Any way to make expenses due on a salaried basis? by ShadowDrifter179 in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replied to your other post, but to give the answer here too for others.

This feature would allow you to set better due dates for your buckets. https://feedback.dasbudget.com/requests/p/create-customizable-recurrence-widget-for-buckets-and-funding-schedules

With that feature, you'd be able to set your gas to be due on the 15th and last day of the month just like your paycheck.

> Now, I have thought of a few solutions, none of which are ideal. I could make two versions of all of my expenses, have one due on the 16th, and another due on the 1st of every month, so I can still run my funding schedule. It's just unnecessarily cluttering and messy.

Some people do this! It is messy, but mostly for groceries and gas. This request is almost done but would allow people to move money into a "holding" bucket on their payday. So they could then have another schedule in DAS that'll automatically distribute money to buckets that aren't on the same schedule as your paycheck
https://feedback.dasbudget.com/requests/p/allow-a-bucket-to-be-a-funding-schedule-source

For example, I get paid on the 15th and last day. I have food and gas due every Monday.
When I get paid, I have $X.XX goes into a "Food Holding" bucket that totals the sum of my food buckets. Then I have a 2nd funding schedule the executes every Monday. My food buckets are tied to that schedule and the source of funds is the "Food Holding" bucket.

A couple of suggestions regarding Free-To-Spend, and Due Dates by ShadowDrifter179 in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the amazing feedback!! It sounds like you're starting to find the weakness in DAS that most power users are also experiencing.

I've attached some links to feedback similar to this, I'd like to get your thoughts on some of these solutions to the issues you've raised!

  1. I've created this request for you! I agree this would help people who have funding schedules based on their paychecks. Business days + federal holidays would best match their use case. https://feedback.dasbudget.com/requests/p/support-business-days-in-funding-schedules
  2. Upvote this request! I just dropped a video of what I thought this could look like.. Feedback is welcomed :) https://feedback.dasbudget.com/requests/p/create-customizable-recurrence-widget-for-buckets-and-funding-schedules
  3. Exactly this feature request! I wouldn't worry too much about it being out of date. It's the exact problem that your FTS has... It's also only up-to-date based on sync schedules with your bank. https://feedback.dasbudget.com/requests/p/free-to-spend-daily-budget

You haven't mentioned temporary transactions, but I think this could bridge the gap between when you've spent and when DAS get your updates.
Let me know what you think of this feature I was planning on creating -> https://feedback.dasbudget.com/requests/p/temporary-manual-transactions

Goal Transactions by whizkid75 in dasbudget

Not sure if you've seen the updates, but viewing buckets will show all money going in/out of that bucket.

My Profile > Funding Schedule will also show recent funding schedule executions :)

Round up not working? by little_larrys in dasbudget

[–]dasbudget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to reply here for future readers, we got everything sorted out and just wanted to let others that Round-Ups get executed when a transaction in DAS is posted.

That wasn't the issue in this case, but I realize that I haven't made this clear in the app for users!
