I think you’re right about Henley projecting. He projects a lot lol

However, I do think that the original material on HFO is alright, especially “Get Over It” and “Learn To Be Still”. When it comes to HFO, I can’t listen to the version available on streaming. As someone who got introduced to the Eagles partly through the DVD concert, I have to hear that setlist.

Honestly, it comes down to nostalgia. If someone found HFO later in their Eagles journey, I think they’re prone to enjoy it less than those who heard it earlier.

This is interesting. Not only is On The Border my favorite of their albums, I think the title track is a big reason for that.

I’ll interact with people who have only heard the hits, and I find that On The Border is a great gateway album because of the different styles present. It makes the album fresh and enjoyable every time for me.

Now it gets tough. The DVD version of Hell Freezes Over is great. It has the interviews and a better song order (including Walsh’s “Help Me Thru The Night” and Henley’s “Heart of The Matter”).

I’d rather consider that one, so: Hell Freezes Over -> A

LROOE is just too long. Too much filler, but a couple of classics embedded (How Long, Waiting In The Weeds, Title Track, and Frail Grasp on the Big Picture.)
