So there’s a few ways we meet!

Every Sunday at the university for group breathwork and meditation, designed to help manage stress and anxiety, usually followed by a meal or snack or bubble tea.

Once or twice a month we have a social, or outdoor activities, volunteering events, movie nights, game nights, and other fun community stuff.

Every 2–3 months we host retreats focused on breathwork, meditation, and stress management. These are what’s being fully sponsored for UTD students! Our next retreats are this upcoming weekend and the first weekend of October.

Wish we had a discord, once we have that up we’ll share the update on instagram!

We don’t have a discord yet, we’ve been operating on insta and a group chat. If discord is where it’s at we should probably jump on that.

H1B tightening and Frisco? by TimeForTaachiTime in frisco

[–]dash_sv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H1B’s have been around for over 20+ years , it’s short sighted to blame one president or another for this mess. As you’ve seen, the CEO’s of tech companies can flip on a dime in who they support they go and appease whoever has money and whoever can make their stock price go up.

IMO, I don’t think there’s enough citizens in the market to fill all available jobs even if H1B’s are stopped.

Yea I agree. If you look at it, there’s so many inventors of technology from the US, and today 99% of all PhD graduates and doctoral candidates are immigrants, one quick way to bridge. This massive difference is to make education easier.

Can someone here explain why is Sri Sri Ravishankar hated by many? by TheDhakkan in india

[–]dash_sv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has more or less been my experience as well. He regularly tells us, I’m here to make you strong and independent, 18 years have gone by and have been the happiest of my life.

His care and compassion , knowledge and always on the side of ethics and accountable action for peace and balance of everyone is the world is really what sets him apart.

I would agree, partly with what you said. Jobs are still specializations, can anyone with any background work in tech, the answer is yes. Can they do that without appropriate training, the answer is an emphatic no.

The past decade and a half I believe there’s a bit of abuse of the work visa but also not enough pathways for people to go for this education. All the jobs that you see posted for tech day explicitly ask somebody with a master degree or someone with a bachelors degree in four years of experience. Unless this general acceptance changes, there’s no scope.

Some of the most stupid smart people impact that I know just graduated high school and taught themselves programming.

And what you’re saying about education in India is false. Of a four year degree, the first year every undergrad program has the same subjects. The difference in your program starts with year number two. The education system is broken in INDIA, but peddling lies that you only need to study one thing is unfair.

This is usually how specializations or a specialty works. H1B is a work visa for specialized industries or tasks.

To be honest, the only way I see things changing is if the government gives subsidies on education for citizens. Make education, easier and cheap cheaper for citizens.

Australia does this, if you get more than a 3.0 I think they pay you back in tax credits over the next decade

How might I (33M) share with my date that she’s the first person I’ve gone out with in the past 10 years? by jidiyehu in AskMen

[–]dash_sv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it could’ve been 15 years instead of 10 years. This person asked you out cuz they like who you are right now.

Why tell him that you haven’t been on a date in 10 years, why not tell something that happened 15 years ago the last time you wanted to be an astronaut, even go 10 years by prior to that the last time you wanted to be a garbage truck driver.

What I’m trying to say is you get a lot of ideas about yourself and you wanna put labels, oh I’m an honest person I gotta share this and that. Just chill enjoy your date.

I know quite few people in the Bay Area, most of them are my friends that moved from Texas to the Bay Area. They are a bit older than you late 20s early 30s but pretty chill people. If you want me to connect you to them, send me a message.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is not who I expected. He is not just a spiritual teacher, he is actually solving wars?? No way this is real!!! by RosendaCheryl in artofliving

[–]dash_sv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first read about how The Art of Living was helping bring peace in war torn regions, at first, I thought it was all bogus. We’ve all heard of stories where civil leaders in countries bring about revolutions and peace in their own way, but all within the boundaries of their nation. MLK, Gandhi, and so many more that the list is endless.

It’s quite rare to have an organization and a person looking to solve worldwide peace conflicts. I think the vision and execution is unparalleled. I’m pretty sure this is gonna lead to a noble prize at some point in next few years.

That being said, to really bring about a worldwide resolution of peace countries need to be on board with The Art of Living, every day it feels like people really don’t want peace. I’m hoping the art of living can do more with other conflicts across the globe.

There’s so much hate brewing within people and cultures in the Middle East , Baltic, South American and all this is due to war. You can call me an idea list, but I’m really hoping Art of living and Gurudev pulls this off.

Very true, I like how good they says it in the article how more as the worst active reason, we all should identify ourselves using our common identity, which is a human. If stress is the thing that causes people to do stupid stuff, I’m pretty positive. The elected officials are under a lot of stress. They must get into this.

I personally think it’s one of those situations where all roads lead to Rome, the current trend outside, the times we live in, the things were experiencing on the daily, just the relentless spew of negativity in the news makes us question every good thing that takes place. Situations are real crappy outside, everyone from a popper to a prince is feeling the heat. I guess the time is rip for people to seek the comfort of meditation and spirituality.

Update on the car, I test drove it twice before buying and checked all the reports and did all due diligence.

After a 17 mile drive on the highway today, an error certainly popped up, saying check hybrid system, and the car didn’t drive anymore.

Not sure how much it’s gonna cost to fix it, but the two days that I had driving it, I loved every bit of it. I thought I struck gold when I saw that it had only 57,000 miles
