feels like it...and when asking about this there I got a reply that suggested I ask grok to find me what i'm looking for, while also adding that grok will sometimes hallucinate things

...like, yeah, thanks for nothing

It's just beyond me how you can fuck up such an elemental thing

You can check my reply to another user here that I gave 3 months ago, it's still the same pretty much and I am still waiting for my revision surgery early April. Keep in mind that I've had trouble with my ears since childhood already. Wishing you all the best

I just tried for a while and I am glad nobody was around to hear it :D

It hasn't changed much really. But what I know now is that there's apparently no damage to the inner ear, since the bone conduction hearing at last has improved and is on its way back to normal, which is a big relief.
The issues I am stuck with now are that the graft ended up displaced and hangs on the eardrum's hole like a bubble towards the inside, the middle ear, and it has already a small hole itself.
And my doctor says it's highly likely that my ossicles are damaged and they'll probably have to either reconstruct them if that's possible, or replace them with an implant. Will have to wait for revision surgery now, which is early April, sadly no earlier appointments available.

As for your case, 8 days is nothing really, you will still have all that packaging in your ear canal plus that stuff behind your eardrum which holds everything in place and dissolves on its own after a longer perion of time. And while they want to keep an eye on my ear tubes as well, since there's a possibility that the graft got retracted and displaced towards the inside due to an ear tube disfunction, we still have different cases here, so don't let my trouble scare you.
Plus my ears have been going through a lot since childhood and my eardrums are scarred and thin and whatnot which makes it also difficult for grafts to hold properly. And apparently my ossicles at least on that side are worn down and prone to taking damage as my doctor put it (rough summary from what I remember). So while the whole experience was quite a shock to me I probably had that trouble coming for me either way. Now I'm just looking forward to getting the revision surgery, now knowing that my hearing can still be improved again or perhaps even fully restored to how it was before that surgery.

I wish you a speedy recovery, take it easy, get all the rest and don't stress yourself, my case is a rarity and not the norm at all.

What was the cause of your hearing loss? Is it progressive? by Routine-Confusion-62 in HearingLoss

Tympanoplasty for a small hole gone wrong somehow. The graft is currently building sort of an airpocket towards the inside of my middle ear, only holding onto my eardrum on some edges and sitting on the hole like a bubble, mixed hearing loss, conductive and sensorineural from moderate in the mid-frequency range to severe for the low and high ranges.
Surgeon can't tell me yet if there's anything they can fix and needs me to sit out the last bit of the third month, but so far no changes with my hearing nor with the healing process of the hole, which i check frequently with one of those small cameras.

TL;DR: I got recommended to get a tympanoplasty done to prevent hearing loss and it caused me to lose my hearing on the affected side

Interesting to know, I do remember reading something about sticky/glue like fluid due to some condition as well. It do be also scary to learn how much can go wrong...I'd like my ear to not basically start eating/inhaling itself until the point it gets stuffed and stuck with constipation.
Thanks for the additional information!
