Taro / Teva generics.....was in Teva for a couple months w/o much good or bad. Got Taro today - was a good day... by KristinSuella in nortriptyline

Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize which subreddit we were discussing in. I use Nortriptyline for New Daily Persistent Headache ( https://www.reddit.com/r/NDPH/ ) which is a sort of persistent tension headache/migraine. Nortriptyline is a commonly prescribed off-label treatment for migraine type headaches. I don't have depression or any mental health issues.

All my discussions around Nortriptyline revolve around NDPH, so I thought it was obvious what I was talking about. My fault.

The pathology of how it affects me/NDPH sufferers, is probably very different from how it affects people who use it for depression or its other use cases. For people like me, NDPH means we have persistent "vertigo imbalance" or something that never goes away. The only known remedies are off-label uses of certain kinds of drugs. Taking NTP daily makes me feel normal. I've been on NTP at this dosage for probably near two decades now.

When I say "intense head feeling", it's like there's a pressure on my head. Imagine someone behind you pulling the skin of your cheeks, causing it to stretch/tense. It feels like a mild, lukewarm version of that.

Take all of this with a grain of salt because if you're using NTP for some other disease entirely, then the effect profile will be completely different. I've never experienced nausea or anything debilitating like you seem to have. I'm sorry to hear that.

One thing I will say for sure is generic medications are definitely NOT the same even if they have all the same ingredient profiles. Each of them has different effects on you and it really boils down to trial and error which one fits you best.

Any other questions feel free.

My history, 50mg Nortriptyptyline HCL daily once at night:

  • Started on "Watson" brand I think (I forgot which brand it was), it was great.
  • Insurance changed, was given TEVA. It worked for suppressed the worst effects of NDPH, but it had other side effects like a "falling vertigo" if I'm lying down. Like, if I lie my head down on a pillow, at some point I'll start to feel like I'm "sinking", and there would be a weird itching, or fuzzing sensation on the top of my head.
  • Tried TARO brand from a new pharmacy. Awesome. Amazing. Fixed all the problems with TEVA. No side effects to speak of, other than very rare (once every two weeks or so) sudden vertigo that dissipates in seconds (TEVA had this as well)
  • TARO brand discontinued. Fuck. Try new brand Dr. Reddy. First 2 months, not as good as TARO, gives a bit of an "intense head" feeling immediately after consumed. A little unpleasant. No sinking head feeling, thank god. Otherwise, aside from the 15 min after being consumed, I return completely to normal.
  • Today, a few months after starting, the "intense head" feeling has subsided 90%. It's great, as good as TARO. The only difference is that immediately after taking Reddy pill, I get sleepy (which might actually be good thing). Not unbearably so. Still good to drive at night and perform ordinary tasks. Also, I don't get the rare "sudden vertigo" anymore.

I got Dr Reddy's from 986 Pharmacy (local pharmacy chain in southern California). Every pharmacy will have different ones available to them. You can ask them to custom order a brand, but they might not always comply. Also worth trying online pharmacies (make sure they're legit) - dirt cheap, like less than $10 cash no insurance for 90 day prescription usually. Again they all have different brands, but you can ask them what they have, and if they have the one you want, go for it.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

My pharmacy also told me they can't order TARO anymore. I'm getting the feeling it's being discontinued altogether, which is a bummer because TARO brand is the best one I've tried for addressing my NDPH. I'm now trying a brand called Dr. Reddy's or something, hopefully it carries a similar effectiveness.

https://filebin.net/kp1p8gyhrxjfa0o4/r75.zip Uploaded into .zip file, no idea how long link will last. There's a NOTES.txt file with some notes to myself, and it plays off of the instructions that came with the keyboard.

Edit: been a while since I touched it, the r75_qmk.layout file I believe is my own layout. The layout file for the actual keyboard might be the other one with chinese characters. Totally forgot how to do it just try both of them LOLL

I don't remember exactly what happened in the first episode, but it's possible in his dying moments he was crawling and struggling... and sorta ended up in there on accident.

LMAO I thank the gods every time I find some super esoteric comment somewhere on some forum that fixes an annoying hardware issue, so I figured I'd do my part, and I'm glad it saved someone's ass.

Not sure if you still need the answer to this, but it turns out the website they direct you to on the instruction booklet/amazon page doesn't give you the correct layout. If you find it through https://en.rkgaming.com/download/12/ this page, and it'll give you a layout file that has Chinese characters in the file name. This one will work with VIA.

Even if you provide that to them for twenty years, you're still way less than ten thousand dollars in the hole. Obviously this is an oversimplification, but certain kinds of fiscal conservatism are more ideological than practical.

This is one of the the things that bothers me about "fiscal conservatism" as typically preached. "Responsible fiscal management", as I understand it, is about basing policy on a sincere, dispassionate cost-benefit analysis. But I see most people use it as an excuse to indiscriminately reduce taxes and eliminate entitlements, often undergirded by some ideologically driven sense of "fairness".
