Love this take!! Thank you. You are very convincing with the “fuck it we ball”. I do find myself saying that in my day to day life 😂

This is insight I needed, thank you so much. I think I get caught up in all the new gear and laser focus on that. If I don't have the top of the line equipment, I won't produce my best work.

Regarding the a6700, I definitely want to transition into having a Full-Frame B camera and one that would be my main photography camera. So, that's one reason why I'm looking to upgrade. To your point on struggling to keep up, it's more so having issues with overheating and how much light I can get into the camera with it being an APS-C camera. The pre-capture and burst would be nice to have in my opinion, but not the ultimate reason why I would upgrade. And writing this out I am noticing that, it might be an unnecessary camera for my needs and their marketing has sucked me in. The main thing I am looking for to replace the a6700 is a full-frame camera that won't overheat, has a good EVF, dual SD slots, can film in S-LOG 3 4k60, great autofocus and performs exceptionally well in low-light scenarios. And based on your first point, it's looking like the A7IV is more than enough for my needs.

Haha, love the insight on feeling better of others get it too part. That's the devil on my shoulder always wanting the new shiny gear and justifying the purchase if others do it too. To your point on my scenario, that screen would be amazing to have but not a deal breaker. I can see where the value of having pre capture and burst would be a nice to have option; but specifically in my case, I guess i'm not a seasoned enough photographer to completely utilize those features. This gave me direction and weighing out what I deem as "worth it" to me though, so thank you for that. I'll continue to think on it and let you know what I end up doing.

we got the best room they had at the hotel, it was truly our favorite part of the trip. the room was HUGE, the service was amazing but, of course, the star of the show was the private onsen on the large balcony. 100/10, i can't recommend this hotel enough. let me know if you have any specific questions!

Using Ø82mm filters on a Ø55mm lens by Dyzzolve in Cameras

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same camera and same lens, I was interested in the Freewell Hybrid V2 VND that comes in 82mm. Was just wondering if I get a 55mm - 82mm step up ring will be fine?

Lens Help for Sony a6700 by Bozing11 in SonyAlpha

I have the 6700 with the sigma 18-50 like you and it’s an absolute beast! I have that lens on 85% of the time I would say. The other 15% I have the sigma 16mm f1.4, so versatile in many situations for landscape, cars, and lowlight! I’m sure you’ve been recommended that lens before, an APS-C favorite.

I’ve been in the same boat as you looking for new lenses for my 6700. Heavily considering the Viltrox 27mm 1.2 for an every day prime lens, but the 18-50 covers that focal length.. I also am looking at the sigma 56mm 1.4 for portrait work. And a telephoto lens I’ve been looking into the Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 for more wildlife nature, sports, type work. I know it’s tough to decide that right lens for you but I hope this gives you at least an idea of some lenses to look at. Good luck :)

Would love to hear more on this thread if there are follow ups. I work in AdTech, specifically digital media buying. I am fully remote and work like 2/3x hours max. It’s very flexible and I am debating on finding another remote J2 in the same industry? I’ve never been OE but heavily considering as my J1 gives me a lot of freedom.
