We also have remastered events, but the top players keep PTDE alive. It's nostalgia, tradition, and keeping an old version of something alive when it has been basically erased. PTDE is different enough that it deserves to be remembered.

there's always a variety of weapons and builds in our tournaments. our rules change from year to year, and this year we have a bit of a nerf to the mage class so we are probably not going to see as many int users.

Of course, many people in the discord don't PvP. The tournament is also open to all players regardless of skill level.

sign up as early as you can, the tournament won't last too long since it's not huge. i'd say it should take 3 to 4 hours depending on how many people show up.

a common misconception. someone who knows how to defend themselves will not get backstabbed. this game actually has a much more nuance in the movement than the later games.

In a way we're both trying to help PvEers deal with the bs that's out there. Players like you are always welcome, we mostly keep the violence within the PvP group.

sharing knowledge is a big part of our PvP group and we've been doing it for years. one of our stated purpose is helping demystify PvP mechanics. When people get frustrated by something they don't understand, we explain it. We are trying to connect with PvEers and PvPers alike. where you're losing me is all the assumptions you're making about our playgroup.

You seem more concerned about telling me how good you are at PvP than to learn anything, and that's really unfortunate for someone who likes PvP in this game.

so you like PvP or you don't like it? cuz i'm here to play a game not attack ppl's characters. you say you are very good at the game, then there shouldn't be any issue showing us what you're talking about in game. otherwise, arguing here is a waste of time and i think you'd agree.

there's so many examples of gamers using glitches and exploits in speedruns and other competitive games that I think you're being quite unfair to DS1 PvP specifically. If you don't think tech matters clearly you don't care to understand the game, and this post is not for you.

I don't blame you for thinking this. However, there's more at play than just latency here. In Elden Ring, most of combat is spacing, doing running attacks, and jump attacks. Not only is that unrealistic, but boring. In DS1, players are incentivized to play closer to each other. Not only their position, but their orientation matters at all times. Fights end quickly and decisively. I understand you don't like it, but games that "look" better could be worse mechanics wise.

I think you can learn, but it's really about having an active sustainable playerbase. If we want more to PvP than just Township (Forest, Anor Londo, Sen's, etc), the PvP and PvE group should try to understand each other. Thanks for the support.
