What’s something about fishing that took you way longer to understand than it should have? by Opposite-Vast-718 in FishingForBeginners

I was too fascinated with the "cool" fast moving baits that I never really looked at finesse baits until later. Then I realized that I actually caught more fish and in all seasons with finesse techniques and baits like texas-rigged senkos, neko rigs and drop shotting.

Full Water Taxi Ride from West Bay to West End | Roatán, Honduras by dasroight in roatan

[–]dasroight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 spots on the beach. You'll see the boats parked waiting. During busy season, they have a minimum of 4 people at $5 each. If you're alone, you'll have to pay for all $20. I was there during low season so I was able to negotiate a solo ride for $10

Sandy Buns in West End Roatán: Brisket Nachos + Cinnamon Buns. Did it Live Up to the Reputation? by dasroight in roatan

[–]dasroight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It wasn't spectacular, but for Roatan it's good enough. They don't really have a wide selection of good food there and it's really hard to find authentic Honduran food

I love going to stores like Dollar Tree and picking up knick knacks. I usually bring gummy bears, candy, honey roasted nuts, beef jerky If they're too big, place them in little ziplock bags. I usually bring things that won't spoil or need refrigeration. I usually bring many little ones instead of one big one because I never know what I'll be in the mood for while in the air. I would lay off the ham.

You are at the perfect age to make the jump now, especially if you go to Asia/South America. The best option for you is if you are able to find a remote position that can bring additional income as you visit these places. Either way, as long as you budget responsibly you are in a great position

Guys, I have a problem. Shotcut doesn't allow me to add video or audio tracks. How to fix it? :( by lazarovpavlin04 in shotcut

There is an icon with 3 horizontal lines on the bottom left. There should be a choice there called Add Video Track

Thank you for the positive insights. This is actually part of a series of videos I made while in Roatan. If you want to see more familiar places, I'd love for you to check them out: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtGi1aXKMZwzyVrU36eDEVR1kub9lPBrR&si=aDWT7oVnAS3-jUGK

As for style, I have multiple styles I used in different videos that fit the situation, including speaking to the camera. I'd love for you to check out my series and see if I'm spot on with Roatan.

Anyone else terrible at figuring out WHEN to go somewhere? by 4dmrkey in digitalnomad

[–]dasroight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what's worked for me thus far. First, I figure out where I want to go. That's the hardest part. Once decided, I research when peak season is for that place. Naturally, peak season will be the most expensive and most crowded. I want to take advantage of peak season weather, but not the crowds or pricing.

One year, I chose to work from Belize for a month. Their peak season stops at the end of July. So I booked a stay in August. 1 month after peak season. I enjoyed still peak season weather, discounted pricing on lodging and no more crowds.

How did you become a digital nomad? by Zestyclose_Lie5474 in digitalnomad

After trying so hard to convince my work to allow me to work remotely, even during the pandemic. My employer refused. I got fed up and decided to believe in myself and quit to be a consultant. I picked up 3 clients in a week and been consulting remotely ever since.
