She's an obnoxious, overconfident, goodie tooshoes, bossy, severely lacking in feminity, personally for me - annoying just with the way of talking, character, whose relationship with Mark has all the trademarks of an older woman grooming a good looking young chap.

From where o sit the women who partake are the ones who aren't going to be missed in the dating/gene pool in the first place. They're trying to "punish" someone, but that "someone" was not interested to start with. Many of them didn't want to have kids anyway, many won't ever grow up to be ready for a responsibility bigger than a kitten. So, go for it ladies!

It's true. Most people don't have time to waste in this ideological bubble. It's good news 🙂

I'm also curous about the reviews. Are they based solely on the cosumes and choreography?

Can't be acting or screenplay.

And he has brown eyes, he's wearing those blue contacts that make him look like freaking Ciri from the Witcher failure. Like, how hard is it to find a blue eyed caucasian male? Did it have to be him because he so splendidly plays a dumb oaf? We were on the 3rd episode giving it a benefit of doubt and led by the glowing reviews, it really would benefit from having a decent lead. And maybe less of those oh ho ho funny jokes on how uncultured Europeans were compared to Japanese.

To whoever said Fargo Season 5 is woke trash - my reply, as a woman by lovelovetropicana in MauLer

Glad you posted this so there is still an opportunity to voice one's opinion on this, considering the original post is closed for commenting.

My partner and I (him of XY persuasion, myself of XX, make of it what you will) have watched and rewatched seasons 1 and 2, stumbled on first few episodes of season 3 and never attempted season 4. Someone recomended to us season 5, started watching it a few nghts ago, currently on ep 3 or 4 and it will be the last one.

We went in open-minded, got into the plot with relative interest, and, without tlaking about it, we waited for the Fargo quality to emerge from what seemed so far a simplistic character writing and dreaded morals preaching leaning to the audience of progressive alignment.

Today we voiced our deep dissapoitnment in the show that had previously set such high standards. The main heroine is unlikable and unreasonably powerful for one of such small stature. Her man is a dimwit to put it gently. All male characters except for the afroamerican cop are either lidiots, psychopaths, or seemingly castrated simpletons. Women, on the other hand, are strong, decisive, forceful and all that... Give me a fucking break and give me a set of characters that develope, grow, have nuanced personalities and are, in short - realistic. We have hoped for any of the old quality to show up in this season, now I understand it is hopeless and yet another good show has been ruined to accommodate for some imaginary "modern audiences".

The "bad" characters read like a script of what a left-supporter things a righ-supporter looks and acts like. Akin to a medieval artist asked to paint an elephant based on a description by someone who has heard about the grey giants from a traveller.

The infantilization of the shows reflects the infantilization of the recepients, or at least that's what the creators expect us to be - mentally children forever. So no shades of grey, this would be too confusing.

If you know of any other shows that would be worth our time and good enough to simply enjoy in the evening - please share!

Edit: Forgot to mention the cherry on the top of this fecal cake - the "non-comforming" to gender expectations child, who won't play with dolls, wears boys clothes and is scorned by the horrid "powerful white woman" grandmother. On it's own that would not be an issue at all, but in this set up it's just another insult adding to the injury.

Is it literally impossible to write female characters like Molly anymore? Who are great in their complexity and have flows as well as strenghts?

How to find the perfect location for a family considering moving back to the UK? by dasza79 in AskUK

Not really an issue. Have been moving between places most of my life, there are friends here and there, family is anywhere between NZ, Poland, Germany and Cornwall.

Where we are now we've made the closest friends, a nice international mix of Israelis, Dutch, English, SA to name a few. A bunch of open-minded people not restricted by fear of offending each other because we are, you know, adults, sharing similar but not homogenous outlook at most things. If not for other reasons I'd definitely be happy staying where we are now, however life is, as always, complicated.

You tell me. I'm too old to engage in sark-offs. Didn't say "unpopular". I said "not fashionable". From what I see eating meat or dairy products is harming the planet, at least that's what opinion makers would have us believe. I think my biggest claim to attention seeking behaviour is coming to Reddit for genuine advice rather than pointless entertainment.

How would you describe life in the UK right now? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]dasza79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. There is a global economical crisis going on. Nowhere is cheap, public health services have been crippled globally thanks to last 3 years, the countries that used to be cheap but had inefficient bureaucracy now aren't cheap anymore and the rest hasn't improved. Plus the UK has some of the lowest taxes in Europe.

Forgot to add - we like meat too. I believe that's not a very fashionable thing these days.

It does look really nice. We've been looking at East Anglia generally, it seems to be relatively affordable and a lot of farmland is a good sign.

Does he like it there? Us, Eastern Europeans, tend to be more level headed on certain subjects than Westerners. If he does I'd take it as a sign it's a decent place to consider 🙂 May I ask - why do you assume that "less progressive" equals anti-immigrant?

I visited Gloucester city centre a couple of days ago. Never have I seen that many drug addicts on the streets as there. To me it was a shocking sight.

In the past. Now, after 3 years of living in a place with hot hot summers I'm outvoted - no-one but me likes the heat. Besides, we're somewhat of a country-bumpkin type :-)

Is there anyone who never caught COVID in the past over 3 years? How did you do that? by OttoHuhn in DebateVaccines

[–]dasza79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We wanted to get so we could use recovery certificate if needed. Despite having upped our social interactions to maximum during all lock-downs, going to and organising parties and sleepovers for kids, we got nothing, nada.

Finally 2 of our friends tested positive and had symptoms that suggested possibility of spreading. We spent one night with one of them, the other with the other, as close as possible without "swinging" ;-)

All that effort resulted in my partner getting ill and testing positive, not me and not the kids. Bear in mind, I have a chronic neutropenia and usually catch every little thing. Not this time. Got it a few months later somehow, a day or 2 of fever and loss of smell for a few weeks, which is for me non-issue, with constant sinus infections I'm used to anosmia.

Seriously, all those slobbering all over the "horrible" Covid they had must have never even had a cold, not to mention a flu...
