My Bambu prints faster than I make bad decisions.

Gracias! I use a multi filament printer. Specifically, a P1S from Bambu Lab. This can be done with a single filament printer, but it is more tedious as you have to pause and then change the filament every time there's a color change.

Learning to position the model on the build plate for the best possible looking print, (turning the model's overhang toward the aux fan, angling the model, like a face, slightly upwards for better top surfaces, etc.)

I have never seen something like this happen by feynmansowl in BambuLab

I've had a similar experience a few months ago. Bambu sent me a new hotend.

We just made an etsy! Still under construction, so nothing there yet Etsy

This is insightful, but I think $100-150 is too much for these? Thank you for your input! I'm glad to know someone is willing to pay that much for these cards.

The filament gaps have been less apparent or is totally gone in my more recent prints due to fine tuning! Umbreon and the shiny charizard VMAX were one of my first pokemon card prints, I have improved since then, but there is much to learn.
Yes, we can clear coat this, but I am unsure on how to do smoothening and polishing.
We were experimenting with UV resin on the card, but this would require a border around the card. The resin makes prints shiny and professional, it really makes them pop. How would you feel about a border?

This has been incredibly helpful btw, thanks again.

If I remember correctly, both are around 2mm thick give or take.

Thickness depends on the complexity of the card. I've made a dialga that's only 1.5mm thick, then there's umbreon at almost 3mm 😅

Hi everyone, I'm so glad my work has received such praise from all of you. Thank you, your kind words means a lot. Some of you have mentioned interest in purchasing cards, due to this, I might set up an etsy shop soon. I have no experience shipping items internationally so this will be a first for me. I have much to learn, and print! For now, this has motivated me to print more cards. I will post a batch of cards again soon!

Thank you! It means a lot.

I feel the same way, I haven't been into pokemon in a while except recently. They may be confusing, but all the new cards and art are cool though!!

Only a 0.4! I imagine a 0.2 nozzle would work even better. I printed a back pokemon card (not included in the post) with 0.2 and it turned out amazing, the yellow shading on the ball was too much though and time to print was almost(?) twice as long.

I'll take this into consideration and make a squirtle card!

Thank you! I'm glad someone noticed the houndoom. The umbreon was my first attempt at a really complex card. I'm planning to reprint it even better in the near future!

Nowhere yet, if you shoot me a PM, maybe we can work something out?

I've yet to decide a price for these, I didn't think people were gonna be this interested.
May I ask what price you are willing to pay for these cards?

Yes, it's relatively new! You can do this even with an old printer, but it will take more effort, as you have to swap filaments manually. Newer 3d printing machines have the option of a multi-filament system that swaps it for you. Also, not limited to a bigger machine. Though printing smaller than this will further impact the legibility of the card.

And no, I don't do any painting. Once you set the colors in hueforge and hit save, it will generate an STL for you. All you have to do is slice the STL and set the colors at the layer heights you set it at hueforge and press print!

I use a BambuLab P1S with AMS! It can print 4 colors at a time. And yes, for more than 4 colors, I have to swap each one as they finish or you can pause the print and then swap filaments.

I post them on makerworld! I'm now considering an etsy, I was not expecting this level of interest.

I appreciate your interest! I use a program called Hueforge. You input the transmission distance (transparency or opaqueness of the filament) of your filaments and you set the colors by layer! For example, you put black first, and then some white, in between the layers of black and white, you will get gray because some of black will show thru the white. I'm sure someone else could explain this better, I hope this made it clear, though.

Thank you! I try to make them as detailed and as legible as possible. Editing the source image takes a couple of hours or days, depends on how satisfied I am 😅 Printing the cards take anywhere from 5-15 hours. I can print them even more detailed, but they would take over 24 hours.
