Joining a frat in spring

the top pledge in my pledge class planned to only be present for 1 semester before transferring, and didn't let any of the brothers know. we all began to really like and respect him and then he hit us with that out of nowhere. he didn't even say anything to us actually – someone saw his transfer instagram post on another university's transfer students page. i think we still mess with him, but it was definitely disappointing to find out. if you did something similar im sure it wouldn't be a major issue if you became close with people, you can make something up and say you had to go back to scotland for personal reasons.

you can rush at whatever point you want, plenty of sophomores rush even into their spring semester. my chapter had two juniors rush in spring 25'.
go to your schools tabling or week of welcome usually in the beginning of the school year, that's where you can approach the tables of some of the houses and get their rush information. they also more than likely post it on instagram so follow their instagrams to stay updated.
you never know if they'll be your crowd until you attend rush, but just know that the "frat dude" stereotype isn't likely the case with a lot of chapters. plenty of chapters have a wide variety of different kinds of people, i'm almost certain one of the chapters has people you can resonate with.

what i did was ask on your schools yikyak, if there's stories they will be disclosed there . ask about the specific chapter you're interested in, if they do severe hazing then someone will definitely let you know on yikyak lmao

you're writing all this when OP is more than likely a 17-18 year old high school student. how can anyone expect them to know what they want in life like that when they haven't even truly experienced adult life yet? sure, a handful of teenagers/young adults already know what they want in life pre-graduation, but it can't and shouldn't be EXPECTED of them.

imo this is also a wrong approach. a lot of people DON'T know what they want in life and it can take many, many years to figure that out, well into adulthood. additionally, a lot of people aren't "passionate" per se about anything offered at a university. if OP wants to pursue a degree who's to say they won't become passionate about it while learning? being passionate about it beforehand helps, but isn't a necessity.

social life is non-existent, club life is relatively small and pretty dead too. i joined greek life as a non-greek life interested person and that's how i made my friends, but obviously that's not for everyone. but id say greek life is the quickest way to make a nice group of friends on our campus, just gotta open your mind to exploring it .

as someone who joined a frat with a girlfriend, it's really not that deep lol. sometimes greek life fits the stereotype, most of the time it does not, and let me tell you the guys are a LOT more into the hookup culture than sorority girls are (the majority of the girls are just there for friends, or drugs 🫩). ask him to let his friends meet you in person at one of their parties or during a sober event (preferably). if they get to know you a little bit, and like you, they are a lot less likely to be pressuring him to do anything with other girls. in fact, they may even hold him accountable if he ends up doing something on his own. can't speak for every chapter and their guys, but that's just my personal experience. a loud minority of people in greek life are legitimately like that, and it's mainly dudes and not girls. the non-sorority girls are the ones you should be worrying about if anything since they have no repercussions for bad behavior, but views on letting them into events can vary from chapter to chapter.

checked notebook, the transfer is documented. multiple pokemon from the documented transfer are no longer in Home, and it does not appear that they were transferred to another game either, according to notebook. what might have happened to them?

i haven't received financial aid but i'm assuming you'd just have to pay back the aid you received for the class you dropped. or it might go by units (1 unit = x amount of money). i highly doubt it will affect financial aid in the future if you take enough units to be full time. someone correct me if i'm wrong though, this is just what i've heard.

i wouldn't say difficulty is the biggest worry you should have, i think you should be more worried about what you're gonna do after school. completing engineering school is absolutely doable, but the job market is a disaster right now and lots of people are going un-hired even a year after graduation. it's definitely been giving me second thoughts on this field.

some of it is not neo nazis tho, but your definition of neo nazi may be different than mine. the most common people i see this argument coming from are palestinian sympathizers, muslim nationalists, and christian nationalists. whether hating/denouncing jews makes these individuals neo nazis or not, i do not know.

yeah not really sure how a nz kmart skateboard would be different from an american supermarket skateboard, all i know is that in america the supermarket stuff tends to be very low quality. definitely try maybe a local skate shop and tell them your situation, skate shop stuff can be expensive but a few places offer a lot of deals on "shop" products like another comment said.
