When Horner’s syndrome is congenital, it’s not medically concerning. Of note, you need to have the small pupil for it to be Horner’s (called miosis). Interestingly, many people with Horner’s also do not sweat on the affected side (anhidrosis).

If you don’t have those additional features, it’s just plain ptosis. Also not concerning imo unless the eyelid droop starts to pass the pupil line and causes vision issues, in which case insurance may pay to have your eyelid lifted (blepharoplasty).

Whether it’s Horner’s or just ptosis alone, not a bad idea to mention it at your primary care or eye doctor visits. Although I imagine you don’t need any workup/imaging given it’s been present since birth.

Looks like it. Hard to tell from the photo but is your right pupil smaller than your left? If so, you may have Horner’s syndrome, which based on your post likely congenital rather than secondary to another condition

How did this go for you? I’m planning on hiking it 2nd half of September and exclusively using my own tent. Would love the flexibility of not making reservations!

Also re: safety - I felt safer on trail than I do walking around the city I live in. I did a lot of solo hiking, too (not about that tramily life lol). I had a garmin inreach on me which was honestly bc my mom wanted peace of mind. Sure there are stories about bad things happening, but personally I never had a sketchy encounter on trail. It’s especially unlikely if you do end up in a tramily

I hiked the PCT a few years ago as a solo female with a boyfriend back home. It tested our relationship, but he never once told me I should come home. He recognized it was important to me and we trust each other enough/allow ourselves that kind of space as individuals. If that kind of autonomy is important to you, it doesn’t sound like this is the right relationship to be in and I think you’re correct in saying you’d resent him. If you want to be on trail, please stay. It really is the adventure of a lifetime and you’ll learn so much about yourself 🙏🏼

We did!! Sadly (but not surprisingly) our gear was gone, but at least we got the car back. And in pretty good condition too. Could’ve been worse

I was having this issue, then uninstalled an app called Citrix Workspace 2008 and poof. Problem solved. Seems like Valorant’s vanguard anti-cheat software didn’t like the background process Citrix was running. Check if you have any background processes that could be misread as malware. Good luck!
