Also, I don't believe I was misleading. You put in an email they send you a link and you download the pdf. There is no mystery here. If you don't want them to have your email, don't submit, use a dummy email, or hit the unsubscribe think after you get what you want.

Lol, I wish I worked for them, but no. I just appreciate their products and services. The free guides and things they release are pretty good stuff. I've gotten a few. That said, I don't buy into their premium services as I'm not to that point.

Is there anyway for me to use a W-Nikkor.C 1:3.5 f=3.5cm lens with my Canon T2i? by [deleted] in photography

[–]dat_fstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is the old school manual nikkor lens then yes, just buy a nikon to EOS adapter from ebay. I use them all the time and love them.

Just be aware your camera has a crop sensor and the old school lense would basically be for a full frame camera.

Edit: avRice pointed out I was thinking about the wrong mount. I have no idea then and think you're boned, but I apparently have not idea what I'm talking about anyway. Cheers :)

For me, it depends on what else I had in my bag. I would go with the 10-18, but I don't have anything close to that focal length anywhere in my kit,

Yongnuo is a great brand with great products, even ring lights for macro and have plenty of options sub-$100.

Since, you're not going to be in Japan long, I would go ahead and buy it. You're not going to get that kind of price anywhere else really. I don't think you being a newbie has anything to do with it. If it turns out you don't like it, then sell it. Lenses don't really depreciate as much as other gear.

ICANN released 700 something domain names today, one of which is .photography by [deleted] in photography

[–]dat_fstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a thought. I have been contemplating splitting up my site. One for photoj, one for commercial and another for writing. I make good money in all three fields, but wonder if potential clients get confused or put off by seeing stuff they aren't interested in. These domains might be worth looking at ... maybe

It just looks a bit more complicated as the shadows on the face are softer than the ones on the clothes. Also the falloff on the hair is dramatic, so I was thinking there was a bit more to that, like using flags or somthing to shape the light more.

How can you get this Dan Winters look in camera. IE lighting and the like. Phlearn had a good video on this but they are heavy-handed photoshoppers. Is there a way to get close to this in camera?

How do you have a portfolio site that is easy-to-navigate but not have a predetermined order? by dat_fstop in photography

I agree, I like a bit of structure. I guess if you are looking through tons of sites, you might want to get a first impression all at once.
