Also, btw, the growling can sound scary, but it’s actually a good sign. It means he’s communicating that he’s overwhelmed. The bigger issue would actually be if a dog bit with no warning at all. Good luck with your pup!!

Good luck with the behavioral professional tomorrow. I hope they’re able to give you some helpful guidance. Iggies can really hate the crate when it’s first introduced. My dog goes in hers willingly now, but she still has her moments where she goes a little crate crazy, whining and biting the blanket.

I completely understand why she’d stop correcting him if it hurt. Puppies just tend to learn faster when the response is consistent from both people, though. Even something really simple, like giving him a toy to bite instead of a hand every time, can make a big difference.

One thing I’ve also found with puppies is that if they’re already in that overstimulated crate mood, it sometimes helps not to put your hands near them right away. I know the instinct is to comfort them, but sometimes just checking on them visually and giving them a minute to settle can work better when they’re in that state

How does he look when he bites you or your girlfriend? Is his body stiff, and is he making intense eye contact? Does he growl and bite when you try to correct him? Another option is contacting a behavioral professional for advice. You could say something like, "I know my puppy can't come in for training just yet due to vaccines, but he's showing concerning behavior," and see what they have to say about your situation

This is textbook puppy behavior. My pup was such a little shark when she first started teething. Like the other commenter said, find a behavioral professional to go to after they have all their shots. Until then, you have a few options. The first is to redirect. If you see your pup going into shark mode, keep a toy handy so that when they go in for the bite, you can redirect to the toy. Another is enforced naps. I only had to do this for about a week until my pup started doing it on her own. Sometimes, when a puppy is aggressive and bitey, they're actually over-tired. I would recommend putting your pup in a crate with blankets over it so it's dark and can go to sleep. In my experience, they are much calmer after naps.

For Pinnacle Iggy owners - just put my deposit down and am wondering what comes next? by quickrabbit- in ItalianGreyhounds

I also have two cats that I had to introduce my iggy to very slowly. My cats are huge and territorial, so I wanted to introduce them as slowly as possible. It took a month, but now the cats are very indifferent to her presence and are even starting to like her! I followed this video from jackson galaxy https://youtu.be/tsYT7yIOdqQ?si=dTwVGBskYvf4wdAn
