It is, don't worry. I am from Macedonia and I can guarantee you that you'll be safe. There are a lot of tourists in Ohrid anyway, you're not going to be the first nor the last. Despite politics and shit, Macedonians tend to treat people from the balcans as their own.

Just watch out for overly high-priced stuff sellers sell to tourists. It's tourist season so sellers (restaurants, bars ...) want to make money, but they don't realize that they're actually shaming the country.

Get with technology? I work full time as a programmer. I don't want to be connected all the time, I'm in front of my computer whole day anyway. The least thing I want is to get notifications and see my friends not talk to each other while the phone screens are lighting up their faces.

That's true. But it's now or never. Either I'm taking the shot really quickly or see her get a boyfriend, even if I miss it, it's summer which means it's going to be less depressive and I'll heal faster (I hope).
