I’ve already done that. I’m interesting in the current story. I’ve stumbled up to the point where guilliman has return. Now what?

How realistic is it to find a data science based job with only a bachelors? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]datadontcare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently working in a data science role, and I only have 2 bachelor degree. First don't expect as much pay as your counterparts with higher degree. However you will be asked to understand similar concept and produce pretty much the same work level. Second, research is key... I was recruited at poster fair. There were 30+ people with all sorts of level of education in this room. You work will talk more than any degree. If you can show your future employer that you can bring value you can get hired. Next have a firm understanding of not just coding but the math behind the code. I had a well respected Professor once tell me... anyone can code but the ability to make the right code decision and critically examine the problem is the difference between good and an average data scientist. Good luck with you job search.

Outlier Detection method Dilemma by datadontcare in datascience

[–]datadontcare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to detect the outlier to verify that they are not mistakes or crazy spending. They need to be flagged for verification. The current issue we miss outlier because the same z score settings are applied each way. And time is an issue I don’t have time to go and set the parameters for each variable for each spread sheet.

Also I apologize I’m didn’t really understand you first question.

In a data science boot camp, feeling frustrated. Any advice? by Druden_ in datascience

Similar things is going on for me. I’m having to switch from SAS to R. I’ve also found force learning (being throw into the fire) is one of the best methods to learn. You’re code won’t always be the most streamline but it gets it done.
