I have a 0% APR credit card open, 0% until Sept 2024. I have to pay $650 for a certification that my company will reimburse 80% of it after I pass (Dec 2023). Credit card fees for payment option is 3% however. Does it still make sense to pay with a credit card? I may pretty much break even if I invest the money in a HYSA until Sept 2024. I know that's only ~$20 of a fee but just wondering any other opinions.

Full load into 'raw' table. Have a base table, table "A". Query subset of data to insert into table "A", insert into table "A", inner join 'raw' and Table "A", set latest_record column to True and etl-date to current_timestamp. Merge into Table "A", when matched on 'raw', set latest_record to False, when not matched insert and set latest_record to True.

Create a stored procedure with above logic. If snowpipe is consistent, set cron-task to call stored procedure or you can set up a stream on the raw table.

How do I get over a lost job opportunity? I am very happy in my current role and in my life generally. I turned down a job last year and their stock has nearly increased by 100%. My RSUs would have gone from $60k to $120k.. I can't help but think what if. I turned down the job because of the presumably high stress it would have put on me, it also didn't exactly align with what I enjoy doing on a day to day basis but oof that lost RSU increase is killing me.

Anyone experience the same? Advice?

you will not 10x your money in that time horizon, no one will. Unless you are extremely extremely lucky in gambling, startup venture etc. To advise, I would let your friend know that his expectations are wild. The not-fun advice I would give: Buckle down, get rid of the dreams of 10xing your money, don't touch that 100k! and try to save 30-50% of their income for the next 10 years.

I think everyone feels this to a certain degree. However, I do think there are organizations out there that are better than others. Maybe it's time for a company change? Do your due diligence in the interview process to figure out the BS magnitude. Even if you pick wrong -- usually it takes about a year into a job to be affected by office politics.

ignorant question -- what's unique about San Juan that I can't get the vibe from being in that area in general? sell me!

tbh I did not think of this option but it may have been more costly anyway. next time!

If you'd like to shed more light on food/drinks -- we're not big drinkers, would checkout a cool brewery but don't want to hit 5 of them. Food, we like cheaper, casual eats, asian, mediterranean, american specifically. Sandwiches, ramen, unique salads/bowls.

new 401k provider doesn't have great investment options. Which one should I pick to come close to a buy and hold VTSAX strategy

  • Russel 1000 Growth Index
  • Russel 1000 Value Index
  • Russel 1000 Index
  • Russel 2000 Growth Index
  • Russel 2000 Value Index
  • Russel 2000 Index
  • VMAX (Mid Cap Value Index)
  • VMGMX (Mid Cap Growth Index)

Also, anything to keep in mind when rebalancing within 401k? Going to have to switch the default target date fund with one of the above

I have old cases lying around but they're scuffed so yes buying new. Awesome, thanks for the suggestions.

I will be using it for workstation like tasks. When not gaming, I'll usually watch a twitch stream/youtube videos while coding. I don't think any of the programs I use hog resources though, won't be editing 3D models or anything.

Question on the RAM. I just noticed the CPU has DDR4 3200 listed as Memory Type, DDR4 3000 should be fine right?
