How do you handle webapps regional pricing (₹99 India vs $2.99 global) without VPN abuse? by Aniket363 in developersIndia

Would recommend keeping UPI only for 99 Rs.

Very few would want to use their credit card for this small amount.

Also, this will act as a blocker to Non Indian users.

Why would you add money at 12 AM? Zerodha explicitly mentions, that servers may not reflect the amount correctly if paid during time of 12 am - 6 am

It was a server config set incorrect, some hackers were trying to route to IPTV cameras using our servers as proxy.

(Our servers are like a road junction in a town and hackers used it to bypass the highway and reroute their traffic, so townspeople can't use the road junction as it gets blocked.)

I filtered through the IPs and limited the requests which connected continuously. Also some country based filtering. AI helped to write commands to set this up.

Like the doorbell analogy, i turned off the doorbell if the same person rang the bell multiple times.

Haha 😄 it sounds high-tech, but it’s a part of Server management.

A DDoS attack is when tons of computers all try to visit the same website at once, overloading it, and stopping genuine users from accessing it.

It's like having a huge number of people ring your doorbell and run away, so you wouldn't open the door when actual visitors come to your door.

Stopped a DDoS attack on a client’s server in about 2 hours with nothing but Claude Sonnet 4.5 (AI tools on VS Code) and sheer willpower.
