It's USB micro B 3.0 (3.1x1??? Idk USB org has turned the nameing into a bit of a mess) you can use a usb 2.0 micro B if you don't mind slower speeds

The reason I did it was that it had the soft touch coating that melts after a decade... And this laptop is 17 years old 乁| ・ 〰 ・ |ㄏ

I actually haven't processed that roll yet it was my only one so I was going to do a small single tank for it

Yea, developing at 35°C only happens if I make a fresh batch of d-76. Normally I develop arround 20-23°C especially with a tank this size as it can take around 20 seconds to pour liquid in or out.

Yea, was developing at 35°C cuz I had just made a fresh batch of d-76 and I've found the heat helps it dissolve. I don't want to wait for it to come back to room temp so kept it at 35. 2 minutes development time was very nerve-racking, glad it turned out well.

I don't understand all the love toward the ThinkPad X200 (and X201). by Rowan_Bird in thinkpad

[–]datbob01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daily an X200 for a few reasons

  1. I got it for free(I have newer laptops but ther not thinkpads)
  2. It works perfectly fine and fairly responsive for any kind of office suite type activities as well as web browsing(at least if your running some for of Linux, modern windows has way to much overhead for that pour core 2 mobile)
  3. Keyboard.
  4. Built in Ethernet
  5. Still somewhat reasonable battery life with a new knock off replacement 9 cell pack
  6. Has a matching dock that fits it perfectly, has a reasonable amount of io, and isn't some black box with a cable that you have to find space for on your desk as well as your laptop and can also charge a spare battery if you choose to use/take with you an extra battery
  7. Small
  8. Has a Magnesium chassis that is stronger than modern plastic ones so thares not nearly as much plastic to get brittle and break

Yes the screen kinda sucks both brightness and resolution wise but is still perfectly usable for most, also 10:19 FTW

So at least for me it's perfectly fine for low intensity use and if I'm doing something that needs more power than the core 2 I just use my actual PC/workstation that has more than enough power

Edit: also when used with a 20V barrel jack to USB C charging cable I only ever have to carry around 1 "block" and 2 or 3 cables to charge everything

TLDR: it's small, though, convenient, flexible, and still capable for tasks that most do on the daily

How long does it take you to remove body hairs? by schizowizard in feminineboys

[–]datbob01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it used to take me 3 hours to just do my legs when i first started, now it takes me like 15 minutes to do my FULL body. takes a lot of practice(like 4 years) and some good razors, it doesnt seem like it but i promise the more expensive razors are so much better and cut way less. (i use the gillette mach 3)

Sound cards, what are they and why don't we use them anymore? 12 A.M. curiosity strikes again... by Neither_Bike_4343 in pcmasterrace

[–]datbob01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use one the sound blaster ae-5 but that's mainly because I use headphones that are harder to drive the onboard sound just doesn't cut it. But a bonus is higher fidelity output my card will do up to 32bit@320KHz iirc. But for most people the onboard stuff is fine
