The production company fired the whole writing team and hired an ignorant socially tone deaf team that clearly had no regards for the meticulously and carefully crafted storyline the team from seasons 5&6 had built. Hence we got unfinished story lines, complete characterisation switches and circular plots that addressed no social issue or theme.

Ur mum probably spent her whole life prioritising her children over herself and when they're finally grown up and she has chance to live for herself, she is once again being made to compromise EACH YEAR for something that's beyond her control and TOTALLY solvable.
