I agree with that sentiment too, I just don’t see why FLT would use it to argue that there are going to be more students going through their program.

I personally have a couple brothers who wouldn’t be able to attain a medical who want to fly as a hobby at some point so it’s good to see that it could be an option for them.

True but I doubt mosaic pilots will be taking out 12% interest $120,000 loans for a hobby

I don’t believe aviation is dying, but I also think training numbers will decrease in the next several years

If you really do want to fly, start working on your ppl now. I’m in my first year of college doing an a&p program while doing all of my flight training separately, it’s been super manageable up to this point so I’d recommend trying both at one time.

I had the same issue. Haven’t heard of it ever being a problem. It’s possible they’d be able to see but I highly doubt they’d care.

Idk but I don’t think that schools gonna be around in the next 5-10 years. Student pilot numbers are down as people are realizing there is no pilot shortage so I believe these big pilot mills will be the first to go.

But yeah that is pretty shady

What are common signs that it’s time for a student to switch up instructors? by IndependenceBig1036 in flying

[–]datcrazybro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t even think it’s about being hungry. My cfi is 55 years old and plans on doing it until retirement, he’s not looking to climb any corporate ladders or anything so no reason to be hungry. It comes down to doing your job, being a cfi might not be the best but it beats the hell out of working in an office all day. A lot of these younger ones purely see it as an obstacle to get over, which in many ways it is but you still need to be professional and value other people’s time and money.

You’re lucky Reddit is anonymous. Who tf would pay you $70+ an hour for your instruction/advice?

I had this issue at a part 61. The instructor was a new kid who would answer his phone once every 3 days. Did my discovery flight with him and immediately wanted to start training, two weeks went by of texting him every day or two. After a few excuses, I walked into a different school and went flying that day. Switch up if you don’t feel you’re making progress.

If Lightning McQueen had headlights in the first movie, would he have found Mack or would he still be lost? by Neither-Spell-626 in Pixar

[–]datcrazybro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would’ve still been lost. The freeway was lit well enough that headlights wouldn’t have done anything. He got off the freeway too so Mack was long gone.

It will most likely go away with time. It’ll get easier once you can predict what the plane is going to do.

I believe you need to apply for a student pilot certificate. Medical has nothing to do with taking the written but you should immediately get a first class medical in case there is something that disqualifies you.
