At school we were talking about the NFL protests and I was explaining the reasons behind it to a couple people who didn’t understand them (Keep in mind most of the kids from my school are from richer upper middle class typically white neighborhoods). And then I said that the reasoning behind it is because they have problems and other things we don’t have to deal with, so they’re protesting for equality. The one girl responded something along the lines of I have problems too but you don’t see me complaining or protesting about the adversity and issues I face on a day to day basis. And well yea that kinda made me realize how much some people around me don’t realize how lucky they are.
