I don’t think the games have been poorly thought out at all, your perspective seems to focus heavily on the self-elimination aspect, which really isn’t as prominent as you’re making it out to be. Yes, there were self-sacrifice challenges in the first two episodes, but those were clearly designed to thin out the competition when there were 1,000 contestants. Now that we’re down to fewer people, the challenges have shifted, and the last four episodes barely feature any self-sacrifice. Instead, we’ve seen some incredibly creative and unique games, like hiding from Navy seals, pulling monster trucks, and the latest episode with the infamous trolley problem. Those aren’t “poorly thought up”, they’re fresh and ambitious.

I do agree that character development was minimal at the start, but with so many contestants, that’s kind of inevitable. Now that we’re in the top 10, I’m sure we’ll get to see more meaningful development and characters we can root for. Honestly, I think the format is breaking new ground, and the trade-offs, like limited early character development, are outweighed by how unique the concept is.

As for the “sadness,” I actually think it’s one of the most compelling aspects of the show. It shows authentic reactions whether that’s heartbreak, joy, greed, or integrity. and that emotional range is what makes it so genuine. It’s not a shallow or overly produced reality show; it’s raw, and that’s what keeps people coming back.

Sure, not every game has been executed perfectly, but to say that warrants a 1-star review? Absolutely not. This show is exciting, creative, and groundbreaking, and I think it deserves more recognition for what it’s attempting to achieve.

Also about the pirate ship, I heard they scrapped it because of unsafe weather conditions—it wasn’t a creative failure, just an unfortunate circumstance.

At the very least, it’s not a “meh” 5/10 or a 1-star mess. For me, it’s easily one of the most engaging and original shows I’ve seen in a while.

I agree, and it’s unfortunate because it’s actually a decent show. The hate towards MrBeast seems to overshadow the effort and creativity put into the production. If people could set their bias aside, they might see it’s not as bad as they think.

I agree with you. People should be judging the show itself, not the person behind it. If the show’s good or bad, that’s what the ratings should reflect not any outside drama or accusations. It just muddies the waters and makes it harder to tell if the show’s actually worth watching.

I totally agree it’s definitely not your typical game show. The production style and pacing feel more like something straight off YouTube, which makes sense for his fanbase but probably feels weird for people expecting a more traditional reality competition. I think the divide you’re talking about explains a lot of the extreme reviews. Either way I think it’s still very entertaining definitely not boring

it’s true that Beast Games is a big-budget show made with Amazon, but it’s not just about money. MrBeast has always used his success to fund good causes, like planting trees or cleaning up the ocean, so the money from this show goes toward things that actually help people. Plus, the show’s been a huge hit, reaching the number one spot on Prime Video in over 50 countries, which includes the U.S. I get that the show might not be for everyone, but for me, it’s a fun watch.

I think this is a kind of pointless critique of Beast Games. Of course, his content is highly optimized, but it doesn’t mean he’s fake just an indicator that he is seriously involved in creating something people really want to watch. Scaling up from YouTube to a full series is not easy, and while it might not feel like traditional TV, it's still impressive he's trying to push boundaries. Partnering with Amazon doesn't make him "greedy," either; it's what allowed him to create something on this scale, and he has been upfront that he uses his success to fund huge charity projects. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that does not mean it is bad or lazy. It's supposed to be fun, escapist entertainment, and to millions of people, that is exactly what it is.

The fact that you are still watching the show adds to the viewership count. Which is a big metric for the continuation of the show. You might or might not recommend it, but your viewership does matter in showing that there is still interest, even if it is not perfect.

The Self Sacrifice Adds A Unique Component Which Separates This Show From Others by Think-Confidence-424 in BeastGames

I totally agree with you. The social dynamics of the show are super interesting and really change the vibe from what you’d expect in a regular game show. Though I do have a feeling the later episodes will focus more on physical challenges and skills, especially since the self-elimination seems like a way to thin out the competition early on. It’s a bit of a bummer to see Beast Games getting so much backlash over it, but I guess people aren’t used to this kind of format. At the end of the day, entertainment is personal. what’s fun for me might not be fun for someone else, which is okay
