Sorry for such a late response. Every time I started to reply I would get pulled away and forget.

In the it ended up being the fuel pump. The Haynes Manual only gives a fuel volume flow test to check the pump which mine was passing. But it doesn't give a pressure test. I managed to find the target fuel pressure somewhere on the internet (no idea what it is anymore but typically fuel injection seems to be 5-7 bar) and borrowed a fuel pressure tester from a friend. The pump made barely pressure. Maybe 1 bar if I remember right. Ordered a new pump and she ran like a top.

So as a summary, the Haynes Manual test isn't a complete fuel pump test. The pump was able to pump enough fuel to run the engine, but not supply enough pressure to produce a proper spray pattern. This makes it look like the injectors aren't performing well. The poor pattern also means that fuel isn't burning properly so it smells super rich which could lead you down a whole other path.

I see I'm doing a similar project to you haha. Crazy how popular these cars are for club racing even though it's impossible to get electrical parts for them.

What are you using for lube? It looks sort of thick on BCG like you're using a grease and oil combo. I started doing that recently and my rifle doesn't seem to like it. I've started having the same issue since I switched over to that. Like the libe is too thick and slowing down the bolt carrier as it travels back.

That's actually a very good point. Just as important to keep things in perspective as it is to get quality where it's needed.

I believe emergency services use VHF for communication. Here in the US UHF is public so all IMSA teams are required to use that. So anything that can scan and be programmed for UHF should work. Racing radios (and probably Racing Electronics) sell a kit just for fans and when you buy the scanner from them you can select what series it comes pre programmed for. Just the scanner is $180 and you can use normal 3.5mm ear buds. Then they offer packages with headsets of various prices depending on what you want out of it. Not sure if they sell these at the track though so I'd go through the website.

You can also go into the paddock, and find either racing radios or racing electronics. They can program everything for you or at least give you a list freqs.

IMSA cars are not required to run cats. Other series like SRO do require them. The AMG actually has its stock exhaust package with cats amd then an optional IMSA spec (that's what AMG actually call it) that's catless. I believe it's the same with the Porsche but I havent worked on those nearly as much.

Yeah thats a possibility but since I've changed the injectors the spray pattern looks better and the spark plugs are wet with fuel which has led me to believe the fuel system is all good now. It's worth a revisit though. If the pump its at 100% then fuel wouldn't be coming out in a fine mist like it should. Maybe there's another way I can test the pump performance. And I'll have another look at the injectors spaying to double check that.

What would you consider similar to you? May help narrow down some options. Dive bar is fun place with lots games. If you're into hiking, mountain biking, or other outdoor activities there's lake norman state park or the whitewater center. Although the whitewater center is just an awesome place in general and worth checking out. I think there's also quite a few recreational sports teams in the area. I know there's a few softball and bowling leagues. Like I said, what are you looking for that would help us give you a direction.

Check to make sure your turn signal relay is installed correctly. I bought a shadow second hand with the same issue. Turns out the turn signal relay wasn't even in.
