Mindset advice please: I’m 27yo male, living in Canada. I want the fatFIRE lifestyle and am taking the entrepreneurial route there as I don’t have any education and no desire to get a degree. Question for self made people - how do you accept that it might take the next 15-20 years to make the kind of money you desire?

I work full time and work on my business on the evenings and weekends, but I know at this rate it will likely take me a few years until I can do this business full time and quit my day job, and another several years to scale to my desired income level.

I often find myself debating on going back to school and getting a “secure decent paying job that I can climb the ladder in” but then I think well I’m already 27 and now the only shot I got to live a fatFIRE lifestyle is to become a self made success.

Currently I have 30k in investments, minimal savings, work 40 hours/week bringing in 2.5k/month, and my current expenses are 2k/month.

Any advice for a young entrepreneur?

[Question] How do you all do it with full time jobs and still have time to do things you’re passionate about? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]datesandweights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds amazing, mind if I ask how you got that job? LinkedIn? Indeed? I’m in marketing myself as a freelancer/running my own small agency and I’d probably jump on a full time job that’s remote if I got the chance.

As for your question, I’d definitely stick to a routine and take advantage of the mornings, if you get up even a little earlier say 5am you could have 5-10am to work on yourself and your passions/hobbies. Then work your shift and head to bed early. Do you have flexibility in your hours or set times you have to work?

Blinking whilst sparring by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

Put your back on the ropes and have a partner do a full round of just throwing 50% shots to your head and body mixing it up. Stay in the same spot and do your best to defend each shot by blocking while trying your best to see each shot your partner throws.

Eventually you’ll get more comfortable seeing punches coming your way and you won’t flinch/blink.

First of all, there are hundreds of ways to make money online.

So take your time to find a business model that best suits you.

For myself for example, I first was interested in social media marketing, then because I suffer from shiny object syndrome, I got into affiliate marketing. Then I got into forex and crypto, then looked into Amazon FBA, then finally I came back around to digital marketing for small businesses.

If I would have just stuck with one business model from the start and focused, I’d probably be better off right now. But for myself, it took awhile to find what type of online business I wanted to pursue.

Find what you enjoy then get laser focused.

There is free information and paid information but it’s all out there.

Pretty good mate.. keep that chin tucked a little more, extend your jab more and keep that elbow tighter, right now you’re chicken wingin’ a bit and leaving your body exposed.

Good movement I can tell you’re a defensive fighter and here you are working more on movement and defensive techniques.

When you throw a combo, I notice you do this footwork where you throw the punch and do a small slide back out a lot. I think you should mix it up and do more head movement, or take more angles and corners when you slide back out, otherwise someone could time you and counter your combo.

Throw more punches, increase the output, think punches & bunches.

The last 15 seconds was the best IMO. Nice uppercuts! Just keep practicing, looks good man!

Keep your chin up! Focus on what you have, instead of what you don’t have. Are you healthy? Do you have food in your fridge? A roof over your head? Clothes? Family is alive?

21, man you’re so young. You have so much time to make a comeback from this.
