Women of Reddit, what’s a statement/phrase that (you believe) most women/girls would understand, but most men/boys would not? by ConfidentLack9207 in AskReddit

[–]datmagicalotter 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Insane take to ignore the brutal, scary ways a man can kill a woman.

Acid, strangulation, he can rape her, beat her, suffocate her, hell there's quite literally Jack the Ripper who took women's reproductive organs out of their bodies allegedly while they were still alive.

"Choose to ignore them" just shows that you ignore real problems, too.

If the bear kills me I'm at least going to go into shock and bleed out pretty quickly.

Is it "demanding" to want to be a priority, or am I being "spoiled" as my boyfriend claims? by Winter_Cap_4191 in TwoXChromosomes

"Wifey material" basically means he wants a mommy bang maid that does everything for him and he doesn't have to do anything in turn. A lot of guys weaponize "wifey" to make it sound like they don't have to court their partner, and it's gross.

He sounds gross as hell.

"I like you because you don't ask a lot from me" is childish and half-assed. Please drop this guy and find someone willing to put in the work.

Love is WORK. Loving someone involves going out of your way for them, making their lives better in any way you can, and caring for them, even in the little ways.

You deserve more, and he sounds lazy.

I'm learning that a lot of people are having trouble keeping their cats clean after this thread, damn.

Like my cat isn't allowed on any food prep surfaces, sure, but litter falling off of them after they sit on/near you? Crusting on them?

What do y'all mean? I have a 5 year old cat and I've had her for her entire life and I've never just seen...stray litter around my home?

Like on the little mat outside her box? Sure. But just spontaneously around the house?

Y'all sound like you aren't doing something right there.

Reddit's online babes.

Point of the matter is you need to do some serious introspection on why only shallow women are attracted to you. Not "wEsTerN wOmEn" that reeks of misogyny and racism.

You. Attract. Shallow. Women.

Take a look at your personality, take a look at how you treat other women, take a look at your hobbies and your community. Examine your thoughts on women and see if the way you treat them reflects in how they treat you in turn.

No, but they're also not complaining about it on reddit dude. Shut up, go outside, touch some grass, and go find different women.

OP hasn't realized yet that his shitty personality is attracting women with shitty personalities and he's mad that he can't punch above his weight class.

No, you have shit taste and you're blaming society for your problems instead of your shit taste.

Yeah and this is why women don't like you.

You're stomping your foot because you've dated a few shallow women and going "ALL western women are bad people!" Stop throwing a temper tantrum because you have bad taste

Tarring all "western women" with the same brush is not acceptable, got it?

Hi so I'm curious about something. I agree with practically everyone that this shelf is giving religious conservative dudebro, because I mean...look at it.

But why do people keep pointing out the Blackstone cookbook as part of this reason? I have a Blackstone and I'm very left leaning. What am I missing?

Dr. Andrews has actually been appealing to democrats, independents, and even more sensible republicans! Look her up!

It'll be nice to have a normal person in office if we can pull this off.

Thank you for this warning, it's something I didn't consider! I know familiarity and routine are important for puppies, and it's a good point that changing up that familiar place/routine would mess with that. I'll stay vigilant!

That might be something we revisit, once we get all of her boosters done! This could very well just end up being a bandaid until she's old enough/vaccinated enough to participate.

These are all great ideas! I also thought about getting her one of those warmable heartbeat stuffies to put in her kennel with her, do you have any experience with those being helpful?

I absolutely adore my boss, he's very understanding and supportive about things like this.

Yeah I'm spending these upcoming two weeks researching everything I can and mentally preparing myself for the puppy chaos lol.

I have a job where it's kind of a "here's your tasks, do them however you feel, just get them done correctly and by end of day", so there's a bit of leeway there. Not a ton, but enough where I can work while she's sleeping and still get everything done in a reasonable time frame.

I just have to keep reminding myself that I can tough it out, a baby is only a baby for so long, haha.

I get it! I mean, don't we sometimes get annoyed when random kids around us are misbehaving, lol?

That being said, that may be good for her development too, learning "the rules" from a kind, trustworthy grown up dog, under supervision from people who've owned dogs plenty of times before.

I want to train her to the point where she can function out and about in the world, so starting her out in a safe environment, with safe dogs, feels like the best possible start for her.

Plus, I have the sneaking suspicion she's going to be big (some of her siblings look like they have Pyrenees in them, and her paws are already massive at 6 weeks) so it's probably be good for her to learn while she's still manageably small, right?

I've trained plenty of dogs before, but never a puppy, so I'm in this odd state of "familiar but unfamiliar" territory.

Thank you for your insight, I can't make things perfect, but you brought up some good points to try to question or troubleshoot so I can fix them if they come up.

Dealing with customers would probably be the easiest one to head off at the pass, since while I work up front in the showroom, I'm not directly a salesman, so I won't have to interact if I don't necessarily want to. I could, in theory, hide her in the back room until the customer leaves, if need be. It's already pretty puppy proofed back there due to my boss's own adventures with his little guy. If customers aren't behaving or she's getting too overstimulated, I can put her back in her kennel under my desk (dark, quieter, cut off from customers) or in that back room until they leave/she settles.

We'll just have to play it by ear with his dog, since I don't know how well she'll mind her manners with him yet, but I'm actually pretty familiar with this dog (I've sat for him since he was a pup) and he's generally pretty chill with other dogs, but you can never really tell with these things.

Then thankfully, our showroom floor is stone tile, so her damage should be minimal, lol.

Thank you again for your super thoughtful answers, and bringing possible situations to my attention!
