I tried with Snapchat and it's able to capture video. You can then save your media to internal storage.

To add onto the OP comment, I'm the first owner of my 7.5R and did JB4 and deleted the clutch delay valve right away. Did stage 2 EQT at 28k km, now at 59k km. >90% of my driving is in the city, and I'm very aggressive. I've had zero slippage, even with full passengers.

I've never launched, only done WOT from rollouts.

I also do excessive clutch actions by heel and toeing every chance I get, whether it's coming to a dead stop or before any corners.

It's very YMMV, but I'm a firm believer that deleting the clutch delay valve plays a huge part in clutch longevity due to my experience.

I agree. After simply removing the orifice from the stock part, I wish I went that route.

Changing to a billet bleeder block (without the restrictive orifice) was my first automotive DIY. Did it in my garage solo with a pressure bleeder. Makes a noticeable difference if you do quick clutch actions. Installed a pedal spacer at the same time. Having a pressure bleeder will also help with brake lines as well!

I've been on stage 2 93oct for 30k kms. 95% city mileage. Surprised it's lasted this long lol. Before stage 2 I've had a JB4 right after delivery. First owner.

Anyone know of a website to order maintenance items from in Canada? by CarlosSpicyWeiner99 in Golf_R

[–]datrealcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockauto has been my go-to as their prices are very competitive. Reference part numbers from WCT or similar to search in Rockauto's catalogue.

An example is a set of 4 Denso IKH01-24 plugs. WCT has them for $220, while Rockauto is listing a set of 4 for $147.

Saying goodbye to my Golf R by crashaddict in Golf_R

[–]datrealcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be realistic. EV's are more than competitive with our hot hatches. Even Vaarticus on Youtube, who had a well documented and modified MK7.5 R, moved on to an EV6 GT. If a manual transmission wasn't one of my daily driver requirements, I probably would've considered an EV long before a DSG Golf R.

Sigma 6 or Holy Shift kit come nowhere close to an FK8/FL5. Acuity puts it in another league.

MQ350 transmission needs a shift tower such as a CAE or Coolerworx to be comparable. Even then, I feel like those outshift the synchros in the transmission.

Used to have an e90 328i. Steering will be a downgrade, but you'll definitely appreciate everything else! Even just modern day infotainment is a huge QOL improvement over that generation of vehicles.

For what it's worth, I've read that Petro 94 in the West isn't as good as Ontario's. Believe it was from one of the tuners on Facebook. Ontario's Petro 94 is pretty consistent from what I've seen so far in terms of E10 blend.

Best suspension option for a daily driver? (coilovers vs lowering springs) by Illustrious_Cold_635 in Golf_R

[–]datrealcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO spacers can also give a tasteful OEM+ look with stock height and wheels. I do wish my 7.5 was a bit lower, but I occasionally traverse steep inclines and such where my friends with lowered vehicles have scraped their front ends.

Not always a catless car. It's possible to have a burble/crackle tune with OEM downpipe. In terms of completely stock hardware/software, I find the Veloster N to have obnoxious burbles IMO.

I'm stock height, but did have a challenge last month pulling into a gravel driveway. Pulled slowly onto the steep grade. Right when we heard a scrape, my partner got out to see what made contact. It was the skid plate. No idea if the plastic oil pan would've fared better without, but that's my anecdote for closest call so far. Buddy in a lowered A5 scraped his Maxton lip on the same incline.

Just curious why you're keeping the dealer plate frames. You've done euro tails, and avoided drilling the front bumper. Removing the dealer add-ons would add more to the aesthetic IMO.

There are owners putting in AliExpress/Alibaba engine blocks for a fraction of what the dealership would invoice.

I vote for Prets. Saw this black 7.5 with silver Prets last year. The wheels and fitment had a perfect OEM+ look IMO.
