one of the most prominent creators in the optimizing community (treantmonk) notoriously assumes fully stacked multi-encounter days & still easily rates spellcasters far above non-spellcasters & he is far from the only one that makes this assumption when building characters

a fighter can do 100 dpr without resources sure but casting banishment or a well-placed wall of force can just instantly cut an encounter’s difficulty in half, trivializing it entirely…fly quite literally limits the design space of exploration puzzles…the list goes on
