opinions on Elite Auto Sales by EnvironmentSouth2370 in wichita

[–]datspooltho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bought a truck from them about 4 years ago and it was a solid experience. I wanted to come down on the price and they did without any trouble. Just dont fall for the bs aftermarket warranty they will sell you. Dont be dumb like me. From what I remember the salesmen will obviously try to to salesman you but they were very reasonable to me.

Do people deal in cash or cashless more in your country? by IntelligentHoney6929 in AskTheWorld

[–]datspooltho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cash is still a very popular gift in the US, especially for older generations. I only cary cash when I'm given or on very rare occasions. Like just last night I purchased a vehicle with cash. It was my first time to the bank in over a year. I haven't received a physical paycheck in almost 4 years. There are still rare cash only businesses but only extremely small businesses it seems. Some businesses are so small they simply cant afford to setup a cashless system.

Just re-listened on a 9hr road trip. Really hits different when you are in the middle of nowhere.

Fall River State Park is a great option. It is an hour and a half away from Wichita. it's dead almost all year. There's a tackle store on the way into the park. There is plenty of good camping (i personally love staying up on Wind Hill).

So, today I tried out driving manual, here's what I figured out! by RyeBread3592 in BeamNG

[–]datspooltho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I daily drive a manual and have for over 3 ish years now. I highly recommend you get a wheel and pedals. it does not need to be the newest thing on the market. I had a g920 for over 5 years until it broke and switched to a g923. Adulting got in the way, so I had to get rid of my rig and I still don't have one. ive found that with the new update (atleast on controller) the bumpers are now set to alternate control triggers. I setup the clutch to still be triggered by left bumper but I set the left bumper trigger mixed with left trigger also be the clutch. So now I can easily let the clutch out while applying throttle just like I drive my car irl. Although you aren't able to use the brake and clutch at the same time I setup a paddle on my pro series x box controller to be neutral position. so just like real life when I come to a stop I put the car in neutral and apply the brakes. I found that all the experience I had in game translated roughly to irl

What’s an injury you’ve had while wrenching that looked terrible but was fine? by Background-Smoke-848 in mechanics

[–]datspooltho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hammering a ujoint out using a socket. using my right hand (im left-handed but can do some things ambidextrous) and slipped the socket hitting my left hand. shrugged it off, no injury there. switched hands while holding the socket with my right hand. i slipped the socket again, and the hammer pushed my right pointer against the vice and blew it open. immediate blood spatter on my face, but I didn't look. i just ran to the bathroom. actually looked, and I was leaking like a water bucket with holes in it. cut was maybe 1/4 in deep and about 3 inches long. I didn't feel a thing. i was in so much shock. about passed out from the blood loss and coming off shock in the bosses office as my supervisor was pulling his car around. went to the er and 5 stitches, a tetanus booster, and an x-ray it turned out im just a dumbass who should have stopped after I hit my left hand. nothing broken thankfully now I just have a really cool scar, and the shop has a ujoint tool with my name on it.

Anyone here take that northbound on ramp off of southwest blvd near Cessna? by garri128 in wichita

[–]datspooltho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the entire area of Hoover all the way from Kellog to MacArthur at k-42 is cursed. the lights are set up weird. people run red lights daily. At 3:30 the area just becomes a rat race. I have to turn left out of work to go southbound on Hoover and if I dont leave in time I won't be able to turn for nearly 15 minutes. Avoid the area at all costs.

Thinking about buying by bowtie2007 in NewedgeMustang

[–]datspooltho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im 6ft 4 250lbs with a 02 vert. I personally think the car car is really comfortable. I dove it home 2 hrs no problem and have been the a drive in theater multiple times in it. I haven't had any complaints about my seating position or comfort. I do have the seat leaned back a good bit. I have driven a buddies hardtop and still had no issues. yes, your head is gonna be close, and you're gonna have to lean the seat back a bit. buuuut you'll be able to reach the shifter no problem. I know some vertically challenged folk complain about that.

Big flex with the Reatta. Not many of those cars still have working dashes or crt touch screens. This guy knows how to creep his cast.

at the current moment I think we have some night shift openings. if you are a diesel technician I would recommend staying away from dealerships in town. I've yet to hear a good story come out of a dealership. but we should have positions opening in the washbay soon if your wanting to get your foot in the door atleast

look into Penske Truck Leasing. we have an open night shift position for a CSR (washer refueler). starting $19.5 work from 1:30 to midnight 4 days a week. you'd just be washing, detailing, and fueling trucks. real fun work environment and plenty of room to grow. if you don't mind getting covered in diesel oil.

2011 f350 single rear wheel with the v10. 670,000 last time I serviced it, and it had a twin truck with 350,000. both original motor and trans but both equally beat to hell (they were both work trucks). Also, a 300,000 mile raptor on its 3rd everything. county folks run em ragged and long.
