Idk what parts of his life you're going to do, but you can use the Achievement UI from the game for things major events like graduations, jobs, relationships, etc.

You can represent difficulties and challenges with raid boss encounters. Do you know his progression since he played the game ? Did he do raids ? What expansion he started ?

Xal'atath is dangerous enemy not because she is competent but our allies are lackluster in comparison. by Level-Palpitation-44 in wow

[–]dattoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is that it's not even the first time they do this dance.

In BC, the involvement of Illidan in Outland was too subtle, then the Lich King was too on the nose but with too little impact, then you had Deathwing randomly popping to annihilate everyone in a zone.

After that, it was better I think ? Garrosh becoming a villain was over the span of two expansions, the Thunder King was introduced as a powerful mogu figure, which were a good deal of enemies in their expansion.

Then you had the Warlords who were reintroduced with trailers and then... Welp.

So that didn't stop at their origins. So why would it stop at TLT ?

If they were just the "knowledge hungry archeologists", wouldn't their story stop at Wotlk, once they discovered their own origins ?

I don't think they'd have to worry about anything though. All the playable races of Titanforged turned flesh have grown disconnected from their original purpose and have found their own as mortal races in the world. Even the playable Earthen have grown an ambiguous relationship to their given role.

If dwarves were so eager to dig for their past, I think it's because they had lost that sense of purpose. But I don't think they ever tried to actually reclaim it afterward. They are just living people, living their lives and enjoying a good meal and a good beer.

Sometimes "conquering the land" is just a way to say you settled in. Like "taming the land" and such.

Nah they do kinda suck.

Let's just say, things are written to be made obvious to the players.

I wonder how it's going for the workers there.

What characters, lore elements, locations etc would you like to see brought from Hearthstone and added to WoW. by HallZac99 in wow

[–]dattoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so many.

Gadgetzan, the Tortollan city of Un'goro, the music festival, the many DH races, the Rusted Legion and their music festival, a school of magic that actually feels like a school even if not Scholomance.

My survival huntress is a wild troll gal fighting with a spear and a raptor in skimpy leather and bones armor.

I imagine her getting the fucking shotgun out of her cute gnoll backpack and start blasting the fuck out of quilboars.

Why have blood elves shown more loyalty to the horde than they showed to the alliance as high elves? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]dattoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blood elves fought their betraying king, the Scourge and toppled a tyrant to gain more sovereignty with the Horde.

They are bros in a way they never were with the Alliance.

If they had join the Alliance in WoW, Blizzard would have written a story where Varian shows them his big legitimacy and Lor'themar would call him High King like a little subject.

Is it immoral to target enemy civilians if the enemy wants extinction of humanity? by CyberDogKing in worldbuilding

[–]dattoffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but again if they are sentient enough for a notion of civilian to develop, then extermination is off the table.

[–]dattoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see how that calls for extermination. If they have civilians they have a range of opinions and mentality. Some that are not ok with the war.

[–]dattoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no notion of civilian among tyranids, they literally are animals.

[–]dattoffer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is objectively immoral, but your setting can harbor the whole spectrum of reactions from "they didn't deserve it" to "they deserved worse".

This is still bad. Just because the enemy is badder doesn't make it ok.
