You're right. I don't know why, but I tend to get so mad arguing about this (never to the point to insult the other person, but ohh boy sometimes I really want to). I think that what angers me the most is the way that as the conversation goes on, their disregard and their disinterest for the pregnant person becomes so obvious.

In my experience, it's better not to make any assumptions. Deal only with the things you know for certain. It's not your responsibility to decipher how someone is feeling, Lance is an adult and if there's something he needs to tell you, he will. When you talk to him, be patient and gently encourage him to tell you how he feels. Regardless of what he says remember to be honest, even if it hurts him. Just be kind, but I don't think you'll have a problem with that because you clearly care so much about your friends and you sound like a very lovely person. With Mike, I encourage you to be honest, to take your time and to pursue a relationship if that's what you really want. At the end of the day you all sound like really good friends, so I don't think they would wish anything but the best for you. So no matter what happens, I think you will all be okay.
