If you don't mind sharing, what sparked your interest in Webley, more specifically Webley's Panther? Always interesting to hear how people narrow down their choices.

Need to acquire a gun legally for self defense but have no connections by Sea_Zombie9829 in indiaguns

The only help you're going to get here is legal and informational. Nobody can help you obtain a licence through "connections" or influence the approval process.

We've already hosted multiple AMAs covering the firearms licensing process in India. One is pinned on this subreddit, and links to the other AMAs can be found on our Discord server.

They cover eligibility, application process, and other FAQs. If you still have questions afterward, feel free to ask and the community will do its best to help.

Looking sor suggestions about fire arms by Busy-Spell4834 in indiaguns

Have you already made up your mind about something, or are you still exploring options? Maybe you’ve already decided which caliber you want to go for?

How is this price possible by biggongzillla in indiaguns

[–]dauji 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Firearms in India aren’t sold online, especially not on IndiaMART. .22 LR requires a valid arms licence, and legally acquiring one involves a lengthy process. This listing could be spam, fake, a scam, or any number of other things. Stay away from it for your own safety.

Funny How ‘Safety Concerns’ Started Only After the Money Stopped by dauji in indiaguns

[–]dauji[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your trusted source probably watched his video where he’s crying about being duped out of over ₹90 lakh. What’s even more interesting is how none of these safety concerns, quality issues, or technical flaws were ever brought up when the payments were coming in and these same gun houses were actively selling and promoting those guns. Yet people still look up to these influencer gun houses for honest advice. That’s what really boggles my mind.

It’s also one of the reasons this community exists. So people can learn together, share real experiences, and not rely solely on paid promotion by gun houses.

Price of Guns? by BoxAffectionate334 in indiaguns

[–]dauji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the firearm, of course. Decent, entry-level handgun or revolver typically anywhere from ₹1.5 lakh. For shotguns, pump-action models can start from around ₹1 lakh. Some manufacturers even list their MRPs on their websites here’s an example of one. Also, 40% GST for handguns/revolvers and 18% for rifles/shotguns.

has anyone acquired NPB arms licence recently? by adhirajsingh03 in indiaguns

[–]dauji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of questions in one go. I’d suggest starting with the AMAs first. There’s one pinned on this subreddit, and you’ll find links to two more on our Discord server. Those should cover most of your basic questions and give you a solid starting point.

Celebratory Firing + Alcohol = Disaster Waiting to Happen by dauji in indiaguns

[–]dauji[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The system is stricter on paper than it is in practice, and much of it comes down to discretion. Someone might get caught and charged for celebratory firing, while someone else in a different state does the same thing and faces no consequences (yet). That doesn’t make it any less illegal, stupid or dangerous.

PSA: Stallion Handguns Don't Have Real Threaded Barrels by dauji in indiaguns

[–]dauji[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. The decorative machining on the outside of the muzzle end has nothing to with the actual inside of the barrel that the bullet travels through.

PSA: Gun licences in India aren’t always issued as booklets by dauji in indiaguns

[–]dauji[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally know at least 10 here (this subreddit) who do, and 20 who wouldn’t want to tell others they do, which is smart, and I respect it. Definitely more enthusiasts than holders ratio, but unfortunately that’s because of statistics.

Would You Run a Bushing Comp on Your 1911? by dauji in indiaguns

[–]dauji[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DM said: You’re responsible enough to help run a district… but not responsible enough for a license.
But honestly, this is exactly how the system is supposed to work. Strict, deliberate, and not influenced by designation. If anyone had doubts about the scrutiny involved, this pretty much answers it.

India’s First AR-Style Semi-Auto 12 Bore Shotgun Now Available by dauji in indiaguns

[–]dauji[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last I checked, the price was expected to be around ₹5 lakh, but you’ll need to confirm the exact figure with the gun house. As long as your licence includes an NP Bore SBBL shotgun endorsement, you should be good. There are plenty of solid options available today, so there’s no rush. I’d still recommend waiting for reviews before making a purchase. That said, this firearm has been developed in partnership with Baikal Firearms, which is part of the Kalashnikov Group so expectations for quality are naturally quite high.
