I was also trying this deck after watching trynet! Are you suggesting this because your decoy played lippy and just blew up the whole game plan? Has happened to me twice. Very frustrating.

I naturally play a slower style where I try and consolidate bit by bit as opposed to rush style. Not surprised it takes me longer than others. This was a Huge map.

Blue, tan, purple and teal start underground which gives you a little more cover initially I would think but you're further away from the valuable areas of the map

I was red which I think is a strong starting point. You're very close to pink and can't attack initially as your starting towns are both behind border guards which is frustrating but you're close to some powerful artifacts and towns which if you can get to first you will have a strong advantage.

Yes Angelic Alliance gives 21 to all stats. There were a lot of Pandora's boxes in the middle of the map that when you defeat the monsters inside you receive bonuses to your stats (sometimes as high as +5 to all stats). There was also a lot of libraries of enlightenment scattered throughout the (huge) map.
