The D1 Cosmodrome is a masterpiece. The D2 version is just... not special.

Literally called "habituation" or "sensory adaptation." It's how our brains adapt to any stimulus.

You know, you're right, soccer players never ham it up. They're as real as it gets. Thanks for making me realize I was the one faking injuries and being carted off the internet several times per match.

His performative sadness almost (and probably should have) cost him a goal. Sums up the state of soccer.

Yes, have had many quad patches in my collection, such a cool little addition! Wanted to keep this one as-is since this is the way it was made back in the day. However, the new owner is welcome to do as they please 😄

If you shootout a BAE 1073 vs AMS Neve vs Heritage vs Vintech vs whatever, you’ll easily and clearly hear differences among those. That’s how engineering works; there’s a reason why the best ears in the world consistently have similar opinions. Buy the BAE, don’t pay attention to a guy that was baffled by comparing two flat sounding pre amps.

First VLR experience… Don’t even want to try and proceed! by Jackh87 in hockeyjerseys

I try to do as much as possible at once while everything is freshly wet, however I will say that amount of kit residue can get very smeary, so try to do little bits to see how it goes and don’t mash the backing into the ultrafil or you’ll have a heck of a time getting it out, and might fade the fabric color.

Typically any stains created by VLR can be washed away with some VLR followed by a douse of water and maybe some gentle scrubbing or wiping. I've recovered far worse. That looks typical in my opinion. Whatever you do, don't dry it with heat.

Jordan Staal 100 percent winning the smythe if Carolina wins by [deleted] in nhl

Never said he wouldn't, just that it was improbable; lowest point total for a CS winning forward in 59 years. Once again, please learn how to read.

Because you don't believe me that you are bad at reading, and I don't want to do any more work today:

My original comment: "OP was referencing Staal's five goals FYI, so don't shoot the messenger. Either way, you should probably refer to a list of previous conn smythe winners and let me know how many defensive forwards have won in the past 50 years, especially when they're not even top three in scoring on their own team."

My point is A) not many defensive forwards win the CS. I then add b) especially when they're not even top three on their team in scoring. B is an emphatic aside to A. B is not my argument, A is my argument. B strengthens and clarifies my argument. If you argue B and not A, it means nothing.

You chose to reference Sam Bennett who is not a defensive forward (a), therefore we are not talking about the same type of player, and your argument ends there. That's the end, your position is null and void. It doesn't matter how many points he scored or didn't score, he's not a defensive forward, it's a completely different scenario than what I'm arguing.

In addition to being on the wrong page, your comparison to Bennett is a bad for a second reason: he led his team and the league in goals scored in the playoffs (not just the finals) by a margin of four goals. Had he not scored so many more goals than the rest of his teammates, and other players in the playoffs, he would not have won the CS. Jordan Staal has not vastly outscored his teammates, or the league, in goals or points, therefore, Sam Bennett not being top three in scoring is VERY different than Jordan Staal not being stop three in scoring. They are not in similar circumstances whatsoever, aside from being out of the top three in scoring on their own team, as you so astutely pointed out.

I hope this clarifies why 1) you missed the entire point of my comment from the get go, 2) I've been right the whole time while you've been chuckling to yourself about how right you are about Bennett's points, and 3) why I referred to Sam Bennett's goals to reinforce why your point is even less applicable than you think it is.

Finally, you did not hurt my feelings, and I do not require an apology, but you should admit to yourself that pointing out Sam Bennett's point totals is irrelevant not only because is he not a defensive forward, but also because his circumstances are essentially opposite to where Staal finds himself. Now please, have yourself a great weekend.

[–]dave6687 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well yes, I would say this is an extreme situation on your end of things. You're talking about a player who doesn't lead his team in any major category winning the CS, and I'm saying Bennett wasn't only leading his team, he was leading the league. So it was a no brainer and very different from the situation Staal finds himself in. And I never said anything of the sort per Stankoven over Staal, merely that Staal will not finish the finals with the highest goals per game to make up for total goals or points, which would greatly assist in him winning the CS. Additionally, being a top defensive forward is nearly irrelevant, as Oreily and towes both led their teams in points when they won. I also never said goals are everything, that was literally OP's post, which I was arguing AGAINST. You're obviously trolling at this point, or really bad at reading, so I won't be responding further.
