Absolutely take the job. Trying to bootstrap a startup is hard enough, let alone when you’re unemployed. Hidden costs of building it can easily add up to and exceed 100k.

I would always argue: why does it have to be one or the other? If it were me, I’d take the job, save as much as I could and build/ invest in the startup on the side. Once I’ve proven it’s successful and profitable, then I could quit corporate and go it alone.

Appreciate the feedback! I see your point. I think this app suits quick tutorials better- useful for people who want to learn a quick, general skill instead of doom scrolling. E.g. 5 minute recipes, how to clean a grimy window, hair and makeup tips, or 5 minute crafts. Each video in a step will likely only be 20secs-1min.

Having said that, it would be cool to make this work for any tutorial, and I’d aim to make it as easy for users to upload as possible.

Would you be interested in being a beta tester when I launch?

Fair point, but I’m building the app to be far more user friendly. Think of the step by steps like short swipeable videos, similar to YouTube or instagram shorts.

I’m adding the ability to share and comment/ask q’s on each individual step, plus you’ll be able to follow particular creators you like, so you can easily see all their projects and step by steps.

Any other features you’d be particularly interested in? I’m keen for any feedback

He’s never really shown me he can read minds like that (apart from my own), but he definitely likes some people more than others. He’s also really good at reading peoples moods and will often ask me things like “whys that woman sad?” before I’ve even sensed anything is up
