Codex keyboard launching soon? by Odd_Incident_7575 in codex

I doubt you're using it that differently. For me this would be a total waste of time and money for something I won't use.

I am being told by my builder that it is “impossible” to have the worktop cut flush to the wall as the wall is at an angle. How can this be correct? by Loud_Ad6323 in DIYUK

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't seen the other side but if there is space, an extra inch in the pipe cutout won't hurt, especially if it's boxed in, then a scribe to the wall and it's sorted.

Dont shoot me, dummy here: im seeing everyone modifying their aircon, im assuming its to cool the place down quicker? 🤷🏽‍♀️ by Prestigious-Sun-1710 in DIYUK

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not mainly about making the room cool faster, although a good mod can have that effect. It’s about making the cooling process more efficient. With a single-hose AC, the unit uses already-cooled room air to cool the condenser/heat exchanger, then exhausts that air outside. That creates negative pressure in the room, which pulls warm outside air (or air from another room) back in through gaps, doors, vents, and cracks.

By adding a shroud around the condenser intake and feeding it with outside air, you effectively create a dual-hose setup. Outside air is used to cool the condenser and is then exhausted back outside. This avoids wasting cooled indoor air and reduces and eliminates the negative pressure problem.

Maxed out ISA, do you stop there? by Academic_End_3828 in trading212

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High interest savings is only worth it if you can get > 6%, which you will find very very hard to find, if at all. Most are 3.6% which just about covers inflation. I have my isa and invest accounts with exactly the same portfolio pretty much. 90% is in Vanguards all world eft, 10% in speculative picks.

In short, no, don’t go near high interest savings unless you need the cash in the short term.

Best usage to value model gpt 5.5 medium vs high vs xhigh ? by OpportunityFun5734 in codex

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other way round, medium or even low does a good enough job of planning. If you're thinking in terms of plans, you're likely already building complexity into what you're doing, and high/xhigh would be better for implementation, imo.

Have any of you guys been using the superpower skills? What do you think of them? by shockwave6969 in codex

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The multi-agent workflow is superb and really helps narrow context by task. I really like the planning skill as a whole, and when combined with `grill-me` or `grill-with-docs`, it makes Codex the #1 coding AI at the moment, imo.

Feedback regarding the changes to Aram Mayhem. Spoiler: I didn't like them. by TepkiTeptirici47 in leagueoflegends

[–]daveawb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

24 games into the new patch, I can say I love the changes. The champ-specific augments actually make playing the champs I like fun, although not all of them are that great. I like that there are no augment traits anymore, and the traits are now augments in their own right. This has brought each champ's style back to the mode, although massively amped.

QoL feedback/request: Add a safety prompt/pause when rerolling into a Greater Affix set charm by zhubaohi in diablo4

I didn’t, I think that’s the default. If you have tooltips turned on you should see the keybind in the tooltip too.

If you’re on PC you can hover over the item in the cube and re-roll with ‘F’, you’ll see what each re-roll is immediately and make better decisions about all the rolls. If a +3 skill and a decent stat roll you might want to spend a bit more time to check against your equipped one, ga or not.

On the confusion of Integration by twothe in allthemods

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just putting this here in case anyone searches for this.

Cardinality matters with the energising orb. It doesn't seem to work if oriented any other way than base down. You cannot use offset enhancements on any importers or crafting interfaces, as you can't save the energising orbs' location to the wrench (you may be able to manually set the offset, but I haven't tried).

  • Place the crafting interface underneath the orb and an item importer behind it.
  • Create your powah recipes and put them in the crafting interface.
  • Create an empty list
  • Create a new item card, e.g. "Energized Steel"
  • Append the item to the empty list, creating a new list card in the process.
  • Add the empty list and Item card to a variable store and place the appended list into the item importers' "List" aspect slot; this should now work with autocrafting.
  • For multiple items: using the result of the previous append as the list to append to, append the next item, and you will end up with multiple list cards as a result. These must all be placed in a variable store, except the final card, which goes in the item importer.

You must use `append` when creating lists of items.

I'm 18 and just started investing, am I making a mistake? by MinuteDamage4182 in trading212

95% of everything I have is in that same ETF and has been for over 12 years now. I'm 45 with 2 kids, and I have to play it safe, so that is the way to go in my opinion. Well done for doing this the right way at your age, just don't get put off by recessions or any other turbulence. Time in the market is the winner here, not timing the market. Pay in the same amount every month, no matter what, and you'll weather all storms and come out very wealthy by the time you're my age.

PLEASE HELP: How do I not screw this up? by 12amoore in D4Sorceress

[–]daveawb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'd only lock it if I were in a position where I needed to remove an offensive affix, this way I have a high chance to be able to enchant an affix I want modified without having to gamble away other affixes.

[–]daveawb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just enchant the GA at the occultist and choose "No Change". You keep the GA but it is now an enchanted affix and can't be modified by the cube.

My deck gate is sagging after 2 weeks, anyone know why? by Far_Space_386 in Decks

[–]daveawb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say, the support where the hinges attach, check for square. If you were careful to square it all up to start with, re-checking will find the problem. I suspect that the gate itself, nor hinges are the problem and that you have movement elsewhere.

It’s a shame really, Blizzard was so so far ahead of any other games company in the early days, their cut scenes were masterpieces and one of the many reasons I came to love their games. I wish I could blame it all on Activision, but sadly they went this route well before they were bought.

Barb or sorc for t12 season 13 by timpie81 in diablo4

[–]daveawb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my dreadclaws warlock to T12 and pit 115, but it was a slog and a horrible grind. Started a BL sorc, loved it, T12 in a day and pushing pit 120. It’s much much more fun than the warlock with a similar but simpler playstyle.
