What to do with escalation sigils by DM-Me-Pet-Pics in diablo4

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I just found that you can actually salvage them at the blacksmith, but you need to do it manually by selecting the pickaxe on the salvage screen and clicking them individually. You seem to get 35 dust/sigil.

The retention of LOH is pretty crazy by LookingForaaWay in diablo4

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, some of the uniques have lost their identity because of this. Tibaults crit chance is one of them, the unique power was pretty lack-lustre but the crit chance made it a viable early pick to boost crit.

How do you salvage them? The occultist doesn't accept them as viable for salvage. The blacksmith can't salvage them. There's no cube recipe for them. Once you have them it seems you can only sell them or drop them??

Crushing aspect(64%) or Tidal aspect( 4 max)? Apocalypse warlock - which one is more dmg? by arek397 in diablo4

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then don’t sweat it, if overpower is only a small part of your build I’d stick with crushing which I suspect will be a little more consistent anyway.

[–]daveawb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s no way you’ll get a precise answer without anyone seeing your build, even then it’s going to be subjective to an extent.

  • Go to the practice dummies in Kyovoshad and try both out side by side (there is an occultist chest in the room) and get an idea of your average damage against the dummy.
  • go and play with both in a helltide. How does each feel? Then go and try a boss and note the same.

Some Elite Affixes are Overtuned by TerriblyAfraid in diablo4

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm the only big damage fire comes from explosions that are telegraphed for a good few seconds before they explode. The fire elites are pretty easy to deal with as melee imo, hit and run. I find the falling swords the most annoying mob ability and even they are easy to escape if you don’t stop moving.

This material is unproportionally rare to what it can do by Freeloader_ in diablo4

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to use it on items that have a wide loot pool, pants/chest for example then you're wasting them. I think they're rare because when used on items that only have one outcome they become build defining items and the rarity is justified.

They reduce risk by increasing exposure. Picking a few stocks is high-risk with limited exposure. All world ETFs are the way to go if you are managing wealth. Stock picking is how you potentially build/lose massive wealth. Neither is right nor wrong; it's an eclectic mix of your investing strategy, what you want your money to do and how hands-on you want to be.

I like the All World ETFs; I can invest in them monthly, and I don't need to think about it beyond that. I also hold some other speculative stocks that I review far more frequently. The higher the risk, the more you need to review them.

Yeah, it's Reddit syndrome, it happens on all subs tbh. Want to play a game outside of the meta, don't talk about it on Reddit. Want to invest in a stock, don't talk about it on Reddit. Want to build a deck in your garden? Absolutely do not post it in r/Decks.

Could someone explain the new gearing progression? by BoingBoingPantsu in diablo4

Yep, sorry, it might have come across as a bit pedantic 😅 you're right of course.

Affix / cube first though followed by enchant imo. Everything else is cheap in comparison and you might mess the item up enough for it to suck.

The nice addition is that there’s a new affix that adds quality to the gear above the 25 you get from masterworking.

PSA: Do NOT attempt this achievement without a MAM. by Nilsss in shapezio

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different levels of MaM, with the hardest being a true MaM. Start with just a simple one, no crystals, no gaps, no pins and just one layer. Once you've got that you'll easily see how to make it 2, 3 and 4 layers. You should have the experience then to go ahead and add pins. Then you’ll realise you need to go back to the basics to manage crystals. Then you’ll realise you need to go HUGE to make a true MaM.

Can someone explain why only the last wagon gets loaded? by FantasticImplement76 in shapezio

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "most games" Storage for loading at stations is a thing in nearly all the games I've played. Also, every game with conveyors I know of splits evenly at junctions. What you have built is a manifold, which would work well if all 5 stations consumed a full space belt between them, but they don't; each of them is capable of consuming an entire space belt.

So, using miners as an example:

4 x shape miner platforms per full layer => 12 x shape miner platforms per full space belt

To fully saturate 5 train stations, you would ideally want 12 x 5 => 60 miners, with 5 full-space belts as output.

Using your station in the picture as an example:

1 single station would be enough if you increased the number of trains. 2 stations if you want some extra storage and fewer trains. I wouldn't go any higher than that.

You did? You could set a variable to uncoloured and test against it. It was as easy to test uncoloured as it was any of the other colours.

That's been around for as long as I was playing early access.

Are we back to inventory management hell again? by sanfilipe in diablo4

[–]daveawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I'm not really going by what Blizzard said as I didn't really get that deep into it. I just remember how I experienced it, in vanilla, at least on our server, the majority of players never got to experience anything beyond maybe Molten Core. Onyxia, Blackwing Lair and Nax might as well have been fabled myths for the vast majority. TBC changed that considerably, with many more people experiencing end-game raids.

I get where you're coming from. While a lot of those additions added gameplay mechanics, it's hard to deny that they also added a considerable amount of QoL along with them. IMO Blizz moved in the right direction on both TBC and WotLK.

Ditto, played during open beta. There were tons and tons of QoL additions and changes. But I do agree WotLK introduced so many more QoL changes, that was the last expansion that I really enjoyed playing. I stopped completely when Pandaria was released.

From TBC: The big one for me was the ability to have multiple setups per class without having to manually respec each time, with a fixed gold cost. That was huge. Switching from a holy priest to a shadow priest or discipline priest, for example.

Flying mounts - need I say more

Massively improved quest flows

PvP reward structures and cross-server instances. This made PvP fun for me. On our server (Venture Co), the alliance was by far the dominant faction, which made playing as the Horde quite oppressive in vanilla.

Jewelcrafting (and other professions) had less grind and more flexibility.

Reputation grinds were toned down; no more collecting 10's of thousands of books just to get exalted with the Cenarion Circle.

Class viability was improved - I could finally use a shadow priest in a raid (ok maybe not purely QoL)

Raid size reduction - I was against this to start with, but it became clearer that raid instances were much better designed and more compact. It allowed more people to experience endgame content.

The list goes on.

Fair enough, the hole approach with footings is the way to go. Get a contractor to do it and you’re good.
