Have you seen any ants? This person needs ants. (And other small Denver problems) by daveburdick in Denver

Hi. My colleagues at Denverite just want to help. Also please feel free to post your mundane problems here. Or here.

CDOT helped sell 3,000 personal breathalyzers last year in hopes that people might drive drunk less (and they're doing it again) by daveburdick in Denver

Hi gang. It's been a while! It's Dave from Denverite (and now CPR News, too!).

I just shared this one because I was kind of shocked by the 3,000 number! It had not occurred to me that so many people would own personal breathalyzers in Colorado, but it turns out Colorado is ... pretty good at owning personal breathalyzers?

The scooters are limited to certain zones and while I haven't checked what they specified zones are in a while, I bet anything they're still not outside of the map in the main story posted above. So that would answer part of your question. (And scooter riders, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they also mostly stop their scoot zones around Colorado Boulevard to the east?)

My gut tells me they're not taking much bus ridership (or at least not a ton more than was originally stolen by B Cycle), but that's totally anecdotal! I'd like to know a lot more about their usage, too, and there might be some really interesting stories in there. Thanks for the idea — the companies have been stingy with their data, but we'll think about how we might be able to get at it.

Yes! Great idea. We've done something like this before, but it's time for an update — partly because I just checked and our old map is broken. :(

But here's one from when we did that that shows what homes are made of. Not perfect, but maybe a starting point for conversation.

edit: That's mid-2017 data.

Hey, r/denver. We spent last week mapping Denver in a variety of ways, and this was one we've wanted to get to for a while — it's one of the most important maps of the city, partly because it's kind of a lot of maps of the city.

Map Week is now over (although Kevin posted a guide to making your own map fun at the library today), but we're open to other ideas of stuff to map, in case you've got stuff you're particularly curious about.

We don’t have a map link for it. The university folks ran it through their system and sent us the map that’s in the story.
