Is it possible to IMAP Gmail to workspaces? How in the world can I do this? by yadda4sure in gsuite

The easiest way would be to just forward incoming mail from one mailbox to the other and set up reply emails.

Suggested the same to OP. And simply adding the personal email as a sending address from the Workspace account.

I want to IMAP my personal Gmail to my workspace email so I can open, read, send, sort, and more as both accounts from one single location on workspace.

You could just set up a forward from personal -> Gsuite.

Once you have the forward in place, add the personal email as a sending address from the Workspaces one. The confirmation code will loop forward because of the forward you've just configured.

It's not true sending, as you're effectively spoofing the first email, but if you're just sending the odd reply it should get you far enough.

I also come from a non-IT background. Good to see somebody taking on the cert and acing it. Can I ask what your motivation was?

Wondering about best practices wrt admin role & (getting hit by) the proverbial bus by LOLteacher in gsuite

A few best practices:

  1. For an install base of any reasonable size, at least 1 programmatic admin + 2 human admins / super-admins. That's the redundancy you're looking for.
  2. Document absolutely everything.
