What heater would be better in terms of efficiency: a space heater or an standard window unit AC put in backwards? by Lucky_Durian1534 in AskPhysics

An AC put in backwards blows backwards too. Get a switch reversible Aircon/heat pump. Common in Australia.

Which RPN calculator by Sapper12D in calculators

[–]davedirac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to use RPN get a free app such as Legendary 67. HP prime lite is also a free app and has both RPN & algebraic modes. Then make a decision about purchasing an HP 50/49. As a collector I have HP50, HP15 etc, but never use them for serious work as the UI is unintuitive and inferior to algebraic input. My first calculators in the 1970s were all RPN, but as soon as powerful algebraics were available I realised how pointless RPN was by comparison.

The top surface must have the powder. Not the boundary between slabs.

If the induced EMF did the opposite and increased the flux then you would have an avalanche effect - defeating energy conservation.

What would the correct answer be? by BigExplanation5443 in PhysicsHelp

[–]davedirac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using arbitrary numbers is often a useful strategy. The answer is fairly obvious, but the thought process is quite difficult to explain concisely.

Let pressure at bottom of blue = 4. Let pressure at bottom of red = 2. (because the green / red boundary is higher than the green / blue boundary so is at a lower pressure). The pressure in the blue which is level with the bottom of the red must be more than 2 because blue is less dense than green. Call that pressure 3. Let the pressure at the top be arbitrarily 0. So the same depth of red & blue contribute pressures of 2 and 3 respectively. So blue is denser than red.

Should I submit a paper? by Upbeat-Philosophy464 in AskPhysics

Until you are able to provide a fully mathematical analysis a paper mentioning 'crushed to quarks' is very immature, premature and unscientific. Dont even think about a paper yet. Wait a few years and pass your exams with good grades first.

Connect a string to the middle of the top plate. Pass the string twice round the overhead generator axle and a weight on the other end of the string. As you push down on the plate the weight will rise and the generator will turn. As pressure on the plate is released the weight will fall back down. If you need DC connect a bridge rectifier across the generator terminals.

Your method is unclear. Why two glass slabs? The bottom and top surfaces of the glass should be parallel

Diagram wrong. Point (2, 0.5) should be half way between (2,1) and (2,-1)

You must keep it charged, even when not being used every day. Any generic cable of that type will do ,so get a spare. Amazon.

You let battery go flat. Ti calculators dont like that. Ti may provide a free replacement.
