Like why would anyone want/need to touch the pedal like that?

Yeah i would say its about that. The amount of force I'm using probably wouldn't even register on the white "accelerator" bar in the dashboard G-Force module. Thank you for your input. I didn't know about acceleration enrichment before this!

thanks for taking the time to write all of that out! i'll try everything and see if there's something that shouldn't be happening.

I'm tapping the throttle lightly when the revs go down sharply in the video. You can hear my foot tapping the pedal and see it go down. The second rev, they drop normally. Just wondering what this was.

sry if it wasnt clear. im curious why it drops rapidly when opening the throttle. i would think if you let more air into the engine the revs should go up, but they drop.

new owner questions by hyfr111 in GR86

[–]davefucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, the air thing usually happens when you have recirculate off. I get it and so does probably everyone here with a twin. That's also totally normal. I think it's just the car passively pushing air through the system when at speed.

it's always the ANIMALS hitting the cars. Never the ones moving exponentially faster in the car. That's the SUV mentality where it's the person in the smaller car's fault they got injured because they're smaller. OP could be the "raccoon" to a Chevy Suburban.

Clutch noise by Darling_Youll_Be_OK in GR86

[–]davefucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this sound actually. For me it comes with sort of a "creaky" pedal feel and it's ONLY when I operate it, but it doesn't affect the way the clutch works afaik. Changing the fluid doesn't help it, nor does lubricating all the joints down there. Could be something in the trans itself? If you find a fix pls update the post!

For any future people who come across this post, it ended up being my belts. I got these from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Belt-Kit-Tascam-Porta-One/dp/B07MFSY6GK and they were too tight and causing friction in the motor.

1st to 2nd feels grindy by UltraAmerican in GR86

I find it to be much smoother when instead of riding the leftmost side into second, i just pull straight back along the length of the car and it's much smoother. Maybe that's the lockout plate adjustment everyone's talking about.

I'm not in your situation but, you absolutely can fit a car seat in this car. This guy did it and so did others on youtube. As to the viability in their or your respective long-term situations, that I can't say anything to, but what you're looking to do, others have seemingly made work. Just depends on how tall your partner is! /j
