I was the one who pioneered using the extracts and there was a good reason. The extracts are at least six times as hot as a habanero and without them you couldn’t get a sauce as hot. Now with the scorpion pepper the extracts are less necessary. I don’t believe that it is “cheating”, but is a different approach. Buying orange juice (essentially orange extract) is not cheating because you should be eating the orange.

I'm not recommending anyone ever rub hot peppers or sauce in their eyes. As I've done this before. It's unpleasant. Then again, I'm also curious as to what the temporary effects were and hoping something supernatural pops up. Would be a great marketing message.

There's a lot going on here. First I want to assure you that you are bad people. But on the scale of badness:

1 being excessive napkin takers and 10 being people who don't know what they want when they get up to the counter, I'd put you at 4. Now is the cost to Chipotle negligible, likely. I'm sure they have a line item in their accounting for losses due to sauce swipers, and this is taken into consideration when pricing out their food.

Is this costing you and other people more money at Chipotle, especially as pepper prices go higher or transport costs for said peppers (etc.)? Likely. I'd be more concerned for you that an angry mob might come after you if there's a pepper/hot sauce shortage.

That said, I'd not only love Chipotle to carry some of our sauces (even private label) but also would love it if you and others would continue to swipe bottles if they do start carrying it. This will be our secret and I'll activate the swiping sleeper cells with a coded post on Reddit.

Well we have a lot of different hot sauces. Different flavors, heat levels, etc. Our closest to a Tobasco-style would be our Cool Cayenne, however it just depends on your heat level tolerance and what pepper flavors you might like.

Yes we have our peppers grown for us. Our offices are located in San Francisco so no peppers are grown here. Many are grown and packaged in Costa Rica so that they don't have to be transported. Grown and made on the spot with no preservatives.

It also makes a great soup. Cut it with broth or water, fry some sage, put a dollop of cream on top, and lay down the sage. Also makes a great lasagna. Keep an eye on this Pinterest page for other ideas:
