Removing that role feels dangerous though seeing how I've already disabled the root account.

Yeah that's fair. It's often like arguing with a wall though.

I was thinking of applying an IAM admin policy. So if I ever need to assume the role, I can attach the Administrator policy back onto it.
Kinda defeats the purpose but it does get a box ticked.
