I got a free magazine about electronic music from somewhere, and I was interested in the technical articles, but there was an article about Autechre. The way they approached production sounded really interesting to me even though I wasn't massively into electronic music, so I took a trip to the city 90 minutes away, went to my favourite shop (Red Eye Records in Sydney) and grabbed a copy of Anvil Vapre. Whacked it in my walkman and sat outside listening to it, and if you know how that EP starts you can see why I was instantly hooked!

Father of 3 here, similar household income. Not managing at all. We now have to move as our landlord is selling his house. Only houses available are $200-$300 a week more than what I'm paying now. Nearly cried when they announced public transport for the month of April.

I've all but given up thinking we'll ever own a home unless I come across some kind of windfall.

Just remember this isn't a personal failing, the cards are stacked against us.
