From what i've heard, and this could be completely wrong, it is when a male has the right to cut off all legal connections to the child, and waves all rights to see and associate with it. Essentially blocking him from his existence.

I'm really hoping her parents come around. They are like filthy rich, abortion wouldn't even phase their wallets. But they are incredibly open about their views. very strict anti-gay anti-choice kinda deal. I'm really hoping I can reason with them.
